Yeah, it's no coincidence. Golf Digest has promoted Haney's book by releasing excerpts, and they where quick to post this article:

Wait until Alex finds out.........

The comments are excellent.

they article fails to mention that they are half brother and sister.  And if my memory from previous readings is correct, Earl was a womanizer and Tilda, tiger's mom, happened when he was serving in Vietnam.  I believe that there was some bitterness from it all.  (as I recollect in my previous readings)

So it stands to reason that Tiger doesn't view them as "his" family per say.   Was Earl close to them after the divorce?  That would be a key component

Ad infinitum! There are people out there who would do anything to make a few bucks.

Anything they say about TIGER will draw attention.

As long as we continue to react to them, this cr** will continue.

I am a TTF forever. I am rational. I choose what I believe.

I know beyond a doubt that TIGER is stronger than those who want to harm him.

Haters are losers! GO TIGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!GAME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes,  they were still close with Earl Sr. Royce was his primary caretaker after he got sick and up until he died.  Earl Jr gave an interview about a year after the scandal.  He said he was with his dad and Tiger when Tiger appeared on the Mike Douglas show and he was there when Tiger won his first Masters. I'm not sure if they actually lived with Earl and Kultida but, they did stay at the house  when Tiger was growing up. Whatever happened to the sibling relationship happened since their father died.

Beat, when Tiger appeared on Mike Douglas, he was almost 3.  That would have made Earl Jr about 23 - hardly there as a companion for Tiger.   The older three lived with their Mom but Earl Sr had visitation rights.   By the time Tiger was born, most of them had outgrown court-mandated time with their Dad and just did the same sort of visits any adult kids do with their father.  Sure they "loved" Tiger, just like one does a cute little family member we see two or three times a year.  LOL

I just think it's sick that we are judging these relationships thru the prism of a guy trying to sell his articles.   I really loved Colin Cowherd on the radio this morning with Rick Reilly - he challenged him as to the purpose of such a one-sided article and said even if every word was true, why is it anyone's business and what could Earl Jr possibly hope to accomplish by publicly chastising his brother?   Colin said if that's brotherly love, no wonder Tiger isn't involved with him.   Rick was dancing, trying to defend himself and used the old saw about "public figure, role model, endorser of products, etc."   Cowherd SHUT HIM DOWN!

He said if you buy an Apple product, do you expect the Apple CEO to shake your hand, be a nice guy, or sign an autograph.  When you go grocery shopping, do you expect an executive of the grocery chain to bare his personal life and thank you for using his store?   NO - so why is it our business how entertainers or athletes live or interact with their families?

This article, except for the news about Kevin's MS (which I think Earl Jr had a lot of nerve spreading since Kevin didn't speak on it himself and his medical problems are HIS private business), is a rehash of whining that Earl Jr has done in the past.   If he were my brother, trust me, I wouldn't return his calls either - much less share any of my personal business with the bigmouth.

Here's the interview:

The point I'm making is they had a relationship there because Granny and someone else asked if Earl Sr had a relationship with his kids after the divorce or if Tiger ever had a relationship with them.
I've listen to about two interviews Earl Jr has given over the years and from the interviews that I have heard he has never said anything disrespectful about Tiger. As a matter of fact he's defended Tiger against perceptions the media and public in general has about him.  He's never stooped to the level of Hank Haney, Butch Harmon, or Steve Williams who got more out of their relationships with Tiger financially and professionally.

Well Well Well!!!

Someone asked legimate questions this morning! LOL

I find it interesting that this is anyone's business at all. That is why I posted this article. It's amazing to me that once someone is famous people feel entitled to your money. So many famous people have cut family members out of their lives!!! And I love the statement that Earl Jr used.. Stating that Tiger shouldn't come back to them if he needs a bone marrow transplant or something... (WHAT)

It would be a kind gesture if Tiger helped his brother out, but he is not mandated to do so. I think a lot of people feel this way as well. This is yet another way to shame someone into doing something for you.

If Tiger doesn't want a relationship with you... so be it! If Tiger will not give you any money... so be it!!! That is Tiger and he will live with that...

I have a half brother that I was never particularly close to.... He is almost 18 years older than I am... However he fell on hard times and become homeless... So I didn't have a relationship with him and he never treated me nice.... HE WAS MAD THAT MY DAD NEVER MARRIED HIS MOTHER!!! That had nothing to do with me.  So if I was famous during that time all he had to do was talk to a journalist and guilt me into giving him some money.

Question: What would they do if Tiger was not their half brother?
