UPT, thanks for posting Darryl Robinson's op-ed.    It was a hard story to read.  Hopefully if Tiger gets a chance to read it, maybe Tiger can contact Darryl with a word or two of encouragement.

i agree,  getting a basic high school education was a great

challenge in many ways for him, but the part that broke my

heart the most was the reality of how he was treated by his

very own teachers in both grade school and high school

and that was  pitiful!!!   :-(

but both Darryl and his grandmother are real troopers!

my hat is off to them both.   and i am so glad for him that he is a

student at Georgetown, with a desire to go into medicine. 

talk about stick-to-it-tiveness;  he will probably accomplish great

things in medicine one of these days.

his years in elementary and high school were unfortunately sub-standard

and did not prepare him well enough for college, but he has the determination

to make it.   and i believe he will.


this is one of the reasons why i  am glad for the Tiger Woods/Earl Woods

scholarship programs.   i believe it was stated that part of the package is

that the scholarship recipients also have access to mentors.   and  a

mentor  can be very helpful and help these students to make the right

choices, etc.   as well as encourage them along the way.

i am hoping this Tiger Fund Raising Challenge will be successful enough

for the Tiger Woods Foundation to reach their goals to send 10 "deserving"

students to college.

I think you mentioned this earlier,  that Tiger's Poker Night

was mentioned on the golf channel.   I just wanted to say

that i also saw it last night as well.

I don't know if they always mention it or not, but i am sure

Tiger appreciates the "shout out"!   They also mentioned

that all of the proceeds will go to the Tiger Woods

Foundation. 

It was a very nice mention by the Golf Channel!  My hats

off to them.   I wish more organizations would mention it

as well.

Whoever raises the most money through Tiger's Challenge over the next 24 hours will receive a personal phone call from me, and we can chat about what I know best -- golf tips, practice methods or what it's like to prepare for a major. The fundraising period begins today at noon and ends tomorrow at noon PT. I’ll be calling the person who raises the most on Friday. Details below. Will I be calling you? Good luck!

DETAILS
Incentive Period: Wednesday, April 25, at noon PT through Thursday, April 26, at noon PT. Only donations made during this period and through the FundRazr app will count toward this incentive. All Tiger's Challenge participants are eligible for this incentive, including those who have previously received other incentives. Tiger will call anywhere in the world, and the call will be in English. Translators are the responsibility of the recipient.

WAY BEYOND  AWESOME!  

And no one knows and understands how

"way beyond awesome"

it really is, better  than the students themselves and their families. 

But just think.  What if there were........  

TEN STELLAR BUSINESS PEOPLE, 

who,  like Tiger,  have  wealth, influence and a   true   desire to help others?

And what if they also put together the same type of, or similar  type programs

as the TWFoundation, etc.? 

HOW AWESOME WOULD THAT BE?   THAT WOULD BE.......

WAY BEYOND AWESOME!


however...................

If those ten business people did not feel it was their specific "calling"  to put together

such programs themselves,  how awesome would it  be if they associated themselves

with Tiger and the TWFoundation to help Tiger and the TW Foundation accomplish their goals? 

I think it would also be...........
