Really? I've hardly posted anything at all in the past couple of weeks, and you jump on me for one single post? When was the last time I "called out" other members? Most of my recent discussions here have been with VG or melom, and have had nothing to do with Bill or Paul. They rarely let up with the baiting and the sarcasm, though, and it's a challenge to not respond at least once in a while. Lord knows you've had a number of problems with Bill in the past, so it's not like there couldn't be a little culpability there, n'est-ce pas? This seems like much ado about nothing, but I'll accede to your concerns here. I understand that you've got a thankless job, and it must be a challenge to deal with the assortment of agendas at play here, and I don't mean to be a problem. I'm sorry if I have been.

It's a strange game. I can advance the ball 450 yards in 2 shots and it takes me 4 more  to advance it the final 40 feet!  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.  LOL

I still work full-time, so can't play as often as I'd like, but still manage to get in 2 to 3 rounds a week. I live in a 55 and older gated community with a golf course, and do play most of my rounds here, but we try to get out at least once a month or so to other courses.
When I do retire, I really can't imagine playing more than 4 or 5 times a week, but I guess we'll play that by ear when it happens.

There's no secret that most folks throw away more strokes around the green than they do anywhere else. A lot of people go to the driving range and spend the entire time hitting the driver, but they'd be so much better off working on their short game.

Amen there Pen. My hips and shoulder issues have robbed my long game, tee-to-green, over the past few years. So I must spend more time on the short game. My scores are a little more consistent because I know that I can't hit very far any more.  Those up & downs are quite fun and they absolutely drive my golf buddies crazy.

tcn, pen, vf.....absolutely!!  It's normally easy to recover from a poor tee shot to get within close range of the green, but the score drops substantially with good chip/pitch shots and of course putting :-))  I've been fighting myself for too long now and will next week go for a lesson!!   Also good course management can save strokes too.  I have a little Mickelson in my game......always ready for the risk/reward shot.  Sometimes I'm lucky and can get out from the trees without taking mine or someone else's head off but then there are the days I could break the club over stupidity of just not pitching back into the center of the fairway.......

I play for the fun of it......lot's of laughs......lot's of good times with good friends.  That's all that matters to me!

PS.....I'm the oldest in my group and hit tee shots 50-70 yards past the "youngsters" :=))

Great posts. So true about the driving range. Much better to concentrate on the short game. The returns are much better.
