How would anyone root for Michelle to win? Well, for one, she proved instrumental -- the best American -- in taking home the Solheim Cup.

Insistence? Or invited? If you were that unique to even be invited, I am sure you would not take the chance.

As for her current chance, I am pretty sure she is trying... The only pathetic thing to do in her shoes would be to give up.

Foolish? She came closer to making a cut on the PGA Tour than any female ever has. Her expectations blossomed because of her performances on the PGA Tour.

She is a victim of her parents and expectations. Her parents never let her be and everyone thought she'd be a star. Not everyone can handle that. Its not her fault and it certainly isn't a reason to against her.

Sometimes people for get she been doing the college thing and she is only 22 yrs old.

Playing in PGA events was not her idea, it was her parents pushing her.

For the record, in the 2011 Solheim Cup the Europeans won. Michelle Wie did play an instrumental part in making that happen, though. After teaming up with Christie Kerr to win their Friday morning foursomes match, Wie was on the losing end of her other 3 matches. She and Kerr lost Friday afternoon in their foursomes match. Then, after sitting out the Saturday morning foursomes, she and Brittany Lang lost 4 and 3 in the afternoon fourball. Then, on Sunday, Wie lost her very pivotal singles match to Suzann Pettersen. So one win and three losses for her...and the U.S. team loses...but you credit her with leading us to victory. Only Angela Stanford, who was 0-3-0 in her matches, had a worse record.
I appreciate your desire to give credit where it's due, but in this case you have your facts wrong. At the present time, where her year to date has been a total disaster, there's no question that Wie is trying. I still maintain that Nike and Kia must be looking for ways to unload Wie's bloated contracts ASAP.

Your point is well taken. Her parents have proven to be the biggest problem in the management of Wie's career. Perhaps those like me who don't root for her feel the way we do because of her parents. Now that she's an adult, it would be nice to see here separate them from her golf career, as Sean O'Hair did with his overly controlling father. That would be a big step towards helping me and many others look at her in a different light.

In the Solheim Cup, other than Morgan Pressel and Paula Creamer, no one did much to help the U.S.

But like we know, we all rooted for Michelle and the others to play well. ALL tried their best and have nothing to feel sorry about, they just got out played.
