I really wish commentators would stop bellyaching about to whom sponsors give exemptions! They do it for many reasons - to increase the gate, to reward a pro who has supported their charitable efforts, to give a hand up to a new young player. We heard a bit of the same stuff about Sam Saunders when he was just starting out but it was more muted because everyone is afraid to offend Arnold Palmer. LOL
Of course, a Cheyenne Woods is going to be at the top of their wish list for exemptions - she's gonna sell some tickets and create some interest in an event, which is sorely needed by the LPGA. They did the same thing with Lexi Thompson. It's good business!
