The Ryder Cup (officially the Ryder Cup Matches) is a biennial golf competition between teams from Europe and the United States.

Very simple!!!

US currently holds the Prez Cup......Euro Team holds the Ryder Cup for just a bit longer!!!

 

Bill......the President's Cup was designed as an alternate year event after the Ryder Cup.  It purposely was designed to allow players from around the world to participate who would not be qualified due to citizenship in a country not within the continent of Europe.  That would include S. Africa, S. America, Asia, Canada, etc. 

All European team players in the Ryder Cup must be citizens of the European continent......

  These Euros love holding on to the RC. They won't be handing it over willingly. LOL

Naturally I'll be rooting for the great red/white/blue.....but know darn well the Euros will give the US a run!!  Will be an exciting match, to say the least :-))
