Two thoughts:

1. Makes sense from security point of view. They will be sensitive to cell phone usage, so combine the biggest draws together to simplify the first two days.

2. Tiger and Phil played together first two rounds in 2008. That worked out pretty well.

Phil has said he likes playing with Tiger, thinks it helps his game.

I don't believe they dislike each other as the media wants us to think.

This will be the spotlight group for two days. I Think they can't stand each other.

So I guess you are right. Phil must have been lying 2 1/2 yrs ago when Tiger's personnel life hit the fan, Saying
"I hope everything works out OK for them, Amy and I count Tiger and Elin as good friends."
Then too, when we see them on the range joking, laughing and once in a great while the man-hug.

On this site & the Open site it shows starting on hole 9, is that correct or did I miss something?

Its correct. See at The Olympic Club, the 9th tee box is close to the clubhouse, so instead of having everyone drudge out to the 10th tee, they will start them on the 9th instead.

These sound bites are everywhere.  Tiger and Phil smile for the camera. They can't stomach each other.  It's obvious.
