B18T, I have a  suggestion for you....  first of your right to expect, after straightening, your hair should last more than a day. but it's does make a different where you go and who does your hair!! I try to educate my client on how to take care of there hair at home on there own...  by suing good appliance and products will make a world of different !! I highly recommend the Farouk Chi flat iron and dryer, baby bliss is also good flat iron to use for your hair( chi original iron)

Also the blow out will help your    hair A LOT ,the chi blow out is a non chemical process that takes 95% of frizz out of your hair and help make it  so easy for you to style your hair, this process cost $150. and last up to 6mos,,,, some place charge $300. if you wants more info feel free to email me ,so I can direct you to the right place or try too!!  hope this help !

I have never heard of tips at Sonics.... LOL

They have been short because when I was pregnant I use to visit them twice a day! LOL

Sounds like you are talking about the Brazillian blow out. I've read about it and seen the reviews and it's not for me.

I wear my hair natural now so I rarely go to salons but, thanks for the info.

I never considered it because it's too much like going to the drive thru window.
Places like Chicken Express has a drive thru window but, they send people to your car to take your order. I don't tip them either. *Kanye shrug*

NOPE, not  that one , I know  all about that one , but no, there are others like the Chi Enviro  blow out or the Karetin blow out, google it, for get the brazillan!!

Someone made that one up.... They will not be getting a tip!!! SORRY...

Furthermore, most Sonics have a drive thru now.. sooooo :)))))

if the service is good i tip:

waiters and waitresses

hairstylists

i buy stuff on sale, etc.

if i don't want to tip waiters and waitresses, i don't eat out.

if i don't want to tip hairstylists, i do my own hair.

additional info:

now days for many waiters and waitresses, they either:

do not get a minimum wage check and the tips they get
make up most of their pay.

or, they do get a very minimum , minimum wage check and
their tips still make up most of their pay.

tips for restaurant workers should be between 10 - 20 %

not sure for hair dressers,  but you could use the same guide
for tipping as well.

for take out, i will give a dollar or two when i pick up my food.

sharing popsicles.  lol !!!   ;-)

:-)

If it last six months it sounds like there is some sort of treatment that goes on the hair to make it last longer so that would be a no no for me.

No, it's not made up although I didn't always know about it. I happened to be listening to my brother one day and tipping carhops at Sonic came up.

I don't have a problem tipping people when I eat out when the service is good but, if I'm at a drive thru I don't see the point in tipping. All they've done is hand me a sack through the window. Most of the work was done by the people in the kitchen.
