First of all a big thank you to those who appreciated my post. I 'm glad a lot of you have enjoyed it!!!
cjanef - I'm glad you mentioned Brandel's failure to recognize Tiger's injury and how his swing with Foley is saving his leg! While he did not mention this in the article, I do remember asking Brandel on twitter about this. Basically Brandel said that he believes, based on what he has been told my doctors, that Tiger's swing with Butch Harmon really had no impact on his leg at all, and that he still snaps his leg with Foley like he did with Butch, which many point to as the reason his leg broke down. My view on this is simple. First, I am someone who likes doctors, and I take their opinions at face value because I believe they are experts and assume they know what they are talking about (hopefully 7 years of medical school did the trick lol). That said, I have no idea if there is an array of opinions across the medical field on how Tiger's swing affects his leg, nor do I have any details about any doctor Brandel has spoken to. I will say that Brandel is correct in stating that Tiger still snaps his leg, however I will certainly argue that Tiger no longer makes a big shift into his left leg (weight is much more centered and lower body quieter with Foley) therefore alleviating some of the pressure. I'm sure Brandel has an opinion on this that he can back up with solid evidence. Whether or not their is more to the puzzle aside from what he knows I can only guess, but I'm sure there is. I asked Brandel if he though Tiger's swing changes were smart, and again he claims they were not necessary, and that no great player in the history of the game has changed his/her swing after finding great success. To his point, Jack N, Palmer, Player, Hogan, etc did very little to their swings over the years. I believe Brandel is correct assuming that Tiger could have swung the same way from age 24 to the present. My personal belief is he simply could not. Chamblee counter me saying he could have stayed with Butch, kept the same plane, but changed his lower body action, I responded by saying the lower body brings the club into the ball and the lower half movement and plane have to match. Basically we went back and forth with no real basis of agreement, which is fine. Typical of two swing guru's with to much time on our hands lol.
Overall. Brandel just flat out believes that Tiger can win with any swing, however he states that Tiger has lost a bunch of years since he has spent so much time going through these swing changes. I would argue that Tiger's health has cost him more majors, and under Foley he has been hurt during their time together so it really doesn't matter. Brandel employs a if its not broken don't fix it view of Tiger. I think he may have a point, however I just don't believe Tiger could swing today like he did under Butch. A change was inevitable!!!
Interesting stuff, here, CK. It's a fact that you've never seen me post a single negative comment about any commentator because, frankly, I don't think any of them are worth the effort to get angry about. It's sorta the old teacher story with a twist - them that can golf; them that can't commentate!
But after reading the article and your commentary on your interaction with BC, I find myself chuckling. The incredible chutzpah of someone like BC to think he knows better than Tiger Woods about what is best for Tiger. Everyone who has ever worked for him, including our friend Hank Haney in his book, have talked about how he picks their brains and then only uses what he feels is best for him. He's been doing this since he was about 9 years old but suddenly he's stupid?
Oh well, like I said - those who can't. Go for it Brandel, if it makes you feel a bit superior and earns you money. I'll be concerned about your opinion soon as you win 14 majors, okay?
you may be right concerning chamblee, miller, faldo, etal., but the fact is, this is a tiger woods forum, and there is a definite tiger woods bias here. these guys don't criticize tiger to help him, they criticize him to get their names in the limelight and help their own careers, regardless of what they'd have you believe.
anytime someone talks about tiger its front-page news, whether positive or negative. there are just as many that always talk glowing of tiger that have the same exact motives. does that make them right, and guys like chamblee, miller, and faldo wrong? definitely not. there are guys in the media that are tiger backers that i take with a grain of salt.
I find this whole notion silly. Tiger is close to owning ALL GOLF HALL OF FAME number one ever in the world STATS and some wannabe thinks he can advise Tiger how to do it BETTER? I think Tiger is doing okay. In fact, to quote somebody who knows a little bit, Tiger is better than most. In fact, Tiger is better all, except in two STATS. RIGHT NOW,

I agree with your post as well. Every time Tiger's name is mentioned, regardless of the specific topic, someone is selling something.
Just using history as my guide with Brandel, I ain't buying!!!
Please tell me I am not the only person who read this thread and didn't wonder how it came to be that CoolKid had a two hour visit with Sean Foley and that Brandel Chamblee tweets messages to him. Come on people. This is a total bogus post and I am sure I cannot be the only one who picked up on that. I mean Sean Foley barely talks to the media. Do you actually think he poured his soul out about Tiger Woods to a complete and total stranger---seriously???? That would make Sean no better than Hank Haney. I am not buying it.
Did I mention I have some wonderful swamp ground to sell in Florida????
I agree ..someone has been drinking the COOL-AID
BOGUS..BOGUS..BOGUS.
