When we need to apologize and do so takes courage. Besides that, it may have been hard for him to step out on the first tee, as well. Makes me proud of him for that.

Do you suppose  he will dread facing his mom? You know how she is about being a good sport. :0)

Enjoy the holiday as well as round four. Next year will be better for sure. Any word on his next tournament? I heard it is possible his "transgression" will bring a suspension. What do you think?

:-)

KD.   i know how you feel, buddy.   and i don't think it would be the cussing

that would bring a discipline, but the club antics.  they have to keep things

like that in check, KD.   people can get hurt and have been hurt from that

type of thing, including golfers themselves.   and ok.  if a golfer wants to

injure himself/herself with a club...... fine.   although that would be unfortunate.

but the spectators have to be considered.   that type of thing has to be kept

in check for lots of reasons.

:-)

the haters will always hate.  but remember.   when Tiger was winning,

and before all the other junk, he was viewed differently.   be patient.  he will

be that golfer again.    give it time.

bottom line.   there has been lots of uncertainty in golf.  why?   money = bottomline.

Tiger is the needle and the needle, though continuing to be the main draw, was

not working properly.    :-)

but here is the truth.   i will state it to you again because you are my friend.

Tiger made a swing change.  he was also injured and had to get well.   a swing

change without an injury .........  for Tiger.  takes upwards of 2 years.   it has not

quite been two years yet and amazingly, he is still ahead of his own curve.  now.

add in the time to get healed and the time may be a little longer.

but still.   Tiger is the man.   he will need to sure up his "course management"

because the lack thereof lost tourneys for him in the past.

not to worry, buddy.  sure.  if a REAL MAN, like Tiger does something wrong,

he should apologize.   i don't think he needs to apologize for everything, but

there are times when it is necessary.   and imo, he was magnanimous in his

response, etc.  :-)

GO TIGER!!!!!!

TIGER WOODS IS THE BEST!

COURSE MANAGEMENT -  keeping your cool on the golf course no matter what
happens to help you stay focused and keep clarity of mind.   fist pumps and
showing passion for good shots is fine.

but throwing clubs, kicking, tossing in water, breaking them, cussing, going off in
general, etc. allows one's anger to get the best of them and will not help you win
tournaments.   Tiger knows when he made the change, controlled his course
management, not only did he start winning, but he started dominating golf.

hi sky,

yes.  Tiger's actions in that situation were very manly and responsible.

he is a strong man and i respect him for that.   i am proud of him too.

lol !!!

yeah.   i would not be surprised if Tida got after him too.   lol !!!

but i doubt that he would get suspended for that.   other people have

done much worse and as far as i know were not suspended.

GO TIGER !!!!

You are still missing the point.....EVERYBODY IS SUPPOSED TO COMPLY WITH THE RULES!!!!!!!  Nobody said a word about Stenson and I we saw it so did they!!!!!   I cannot tolerate bias toward disciplinary action and media coverage for only one golfer when it is done by another golfer in exactly the same tournament.  Give me a break here!!!  Don't you see the difference in how it is treated.  If Phil Mickelson threw his club across the entire golf course it wouldn't get the coverage Tiger got for what he did.

KD.

i saw the Stenson episode.  and i am not sure what you heard,

but the commentators commented on it.

both Nick Faldo and Jim Nantz.  Faldo said, Stenson, you don't

do that at a major.  and Nantz said you don't do that anywhere.

now.  when Tiger kicked his club, i was watching that too.

his actually happened faster.   and i remember a commentator

mentioning something about frustration.   and because it was

Tiger, my jaw dropped, and i could not believe what i had just

seen him do.   and i honestly do not remember what else the

commentators said.

but if Tiger gets fined, definitely Stenson should be fined.

but someone mentioned that the PGA does not discuss what

they do.

but yes.    if one is fined.  then both should be fined.

yes.   i see what you are saying.

i am not as upset about it i guess, because i spent so much

time being upset about it and complaining about it years ago.

yes.   i know they opt to show Tiger cussing, etc. and not the

others.   and the other thing i notice a lot of the times, though

not all of the time, is that when certain ones go off, the camera

quickly moves away from them.   ex.   just a few weeks ago.

one of the golfers was messing up in one of the bunkers, and

slammed the club on the lip of the bunker.   i believe the lip

could have been destroyed, but the camera moved away so fast

that i could not see what happened to the bunker.  was he fined?

i don't know, but i believe in that situation he should have been.

years ago, Davis Love get angry and slammed his club down on

a sprinkler head and broke the thing.  it started spurting out water.

i believe he was fined.   i mean.  the list goes on.

so i guess we agree.   i know the bias is there but i can't control

what the PGA tour does.   i just know what i see.

in the meantime.   i expect Tiger to be more mature.   and he has

grown over the years.   and i expect his maturity in that sense to

continue.   it only does him good.  as history has revealed.

GO TIGER!!!

Totally agree rs.....I too saw Stensen re-do the landscape!  He just didn't slam it once but he kept beating and beating the ground.  I am from the US and you are right.....every sport has it's frustration.  I would even go so far as to say that GOLF is more frustrating than any other.  I play myself and usually play in the 80's.  I am a natural athlete and always get frustrated with golf......I just don't happen to be plastered on TV everyweek.  Even sadder is that 90% of all golfers do exactly what TW did that caused his downfall, for now.  That is nothing new and I would say your everyday man has a few trysts in his life.

So, my conclusion on this a witch hunt, after the greatest golfer ever.  The fact that this has gone on for 2+ years supports that.  The almighty Tom Watson was an alcoholic and had an affair with another pros wife causing a divorce.  She happened to be married to the other Watson at the time so she didn't have to change her name.  Lucas Glover who 2 years ago won at Bethpage Black hasn't been around for awhile - why - his wife happened to walk in on him while in the act with another woman but according to TGC, "it was nice to see him back after his personal problem."

Except for the beauty of Augusta and Tiger playing, I wouldn't give it the time of day....I'd rather be out playing myself.  Bottom line, your right, frustration is part of every sport and frustration from these commentators is just as bad.  Sad how they choose who they want to try and bury.....this is a man's occupation and I doubt without Tiger, TGC would have ever become what it is today!

  • 4/8/12
Well sky......they better suspend Stensen too then.....he did far more damage to the course when he pounded the pine straw time after time after time.  Aside from that, they only want Tiger for the $$$$$$.......as I am a Christain, how sad is that.  Do you really think they will suspend him and if they do, I will be the first to remind them of Stensen's fopah!

Tiger  seems to spend his life apologizing.

  • 4/8/12
And its high time he stopped.  When everybody else apologizes for their wrong doings on the course then Tiger should ....but not until then!!!!
  • 4/8/12

I think discpline should be meted out fairly as you do. When I read that piece that said suspension was an option, the example cited said the last time it was used was for six months. I don't even remember where I read this.

It is out of our hands, but we can let our feelings be known.

Bet you saw that double eagle on the second by Louis. If not Tiger, I can live with Louis being the new champion.
