What is a Troll. Thanks shenlee. I did not know an official name existed for the lunacy. I am fairly new to the site, but have been floored by some of the posts. Why would a person vehemently argue in a disserving manner to the sites theme?  I would not belong to a Phil Mickelson site, but if I were a Troll I guess that’s where I’d be headed.

There is really no need for anyone to be a troll. I am a huge Tiger Woods fan. I do not need to diss another golfer or person in order to accomplish this goal.

Not only do I disagree. Your facts of Golf are way off. Tiger has never left being competitive. The expectations of many of his fans have dissipated a little, but STOP reading the press and start thinking about Tiger. The issues Tiger has and continues to sort out is obviously above many people’s understanding when it comes to playing competitive Golf.  If I personally had gone through what Tiger has, I would have been out of action for two or three years, simply to regain a remote form of competitiveness. For Tiger to hang in and take the guff and ridicule, it has made me understand that Tiger is nothing less than a true Warrior. With all that said, Tiger is competitive now, however once Tiger regains his balance referring to him sorting things out in his personal life. GAME ON!

You are wrong about this

Just saw what you said here about Tiger hiring Butch for a session.  That would be great!   He did so much for Tiger before they

split.  Do you know why they split?  And why did Butch become so anti-Tiger?

Hi Bug,

I believe it had a lot to do with Earl and the change didn't sit well with Harmon.  Harmon was great for Tiger but the general consensus is that in Tiger, Butch saw this young kid that could hit the ball a mile on natural talent and he turned that power up a few notches.  In doing that it caused a violent torque on the left knee ultimately contributing to his knee problems.  As you know, a young Tiger was a really skinny kid and that knee couldn't hold up to the violence of the Butch Harmon swing.  The damage was unknown at the time he left Harmon so that wasn't the reason, although after moving to Haney it became a topic of discussion.

As I remember though, Earl was more a factor in the coaching change than Tiger and Harmon is not known for his personality, he has quite an ego too.  And I hope you did notice that I made reference that Tiger should hire Harmon just to get into PM's head.  Although, I too believe Tiger's swing was more natural with Harmon, if Tiger did hire him and explained the concern of his knee regarding longevity, Harmon is good and definately could adapt to that.  Truthfully, I am not sold on Foley.....look at some of his other clients and although they are in the top 50, I think only one or two have won and I don't believe any of them are in the top ten.  IMHO,,,,,,as seen even on the last day at Pebble Beach, PM just can't help pulling the trigger after a good round or two....it's in his DNA and for Pebble he did put 4 days together.  I noticed today, that PM pulled out of the Accenture and I would bet it is because of his inability to find most fairways routinely, the desert course would have shown the side that PM doesn't want to be seen.  Sure, Tiger has been having that trouble for awhile but his misses were not that off and with his approach shots he has always been phenominal.......with the exception of the turmoil that has been created over the last 2+ years.  I think the old adage explains it well here:  everybody hates a winner.  He dominated more than any other golfer - ever - within a 10 year period and I believe there will be a third act!

Well, the match play we saw today sure did say alot about the state of golf.  2 or 3 from the top ten were sent packing and I had to leave early so I don't even know the count, it may have been more.

Thanks for that info. Now that you've reminded me, I do remember that Tiger's knee was a problem with Butch, and lots of people blame Butch for his knee trouble.

I didn't quite understand about hiring Butch just to get in Phil's head (I do now) . You're right, though. Everyone has his price and it would be well worth it.

Used to be, Tiger didn't need anybody to do this for him. I fear the days of Tiger intimidating people are over. Nobody did that like he used to. And today he hit maybe

2 shots that were so unbelievably good - even the commentators said nobody else in the world could have his those shots. Yet on the next hole, we're saying, "Whoa,

Tiger, where did THAT shot come from?" - (because it was so bad)

As for Phil pulling the trigger, remember Winged Foot in 2006 when he had the tournament won with 2 holes to play, and he blew it?! That's the one where in the

interview afterwords, he said he was so stupid.

Well, anyhow, I can't wait for tomorrow's round. There were a ton of upsets today. Watney's a good guy but I hope he helps out a little tomorrow by having a bad

round. Later, Paddy.....

Wishful thinking on my part probably but one could hope that Tiger reaches that point again.  Yep, talk to you tomorrow.....take care!!
