but I should plan to go.  Always wanted to go to England.  LOLOL  I was an English major in college and taught it for years before going into Administration.  Would be nice to visit.  (but not during monsoon season LOL)

Hi Granny

You asked about the weather for the OPEN

Here is a link with the outlook for the month ahead - weather here has been beyond poor so far this summer, mostly cool and showery  and it looks like it is set to continue

You are too funny!!!!!!  There I was turning green with envy ......and you were spoofing us the whole time!!!!!    And I totally agree....the day (other than Federer winning) was like watching paint peel!!!!!

I am from over the pond, as you might guess from my forum moniker!  The weather is very varied in the British Isles even during our so-called summer.  One summer I took my husband back for a visit and it was in the eighties and sunny for the whole three weeks we were there, not a drop of rain.  He never believed in "always rains in England" after that.  So far they have had lots of rain and floooding, but are hoping for better weather for the upcoming Olympics.

Take some rain gear and a brolly (umbrella) if you have one.  Pack some light  summer clothing but also take a warm jacket and a light weight sweater or two with long sleeves.

Have a great trip and may the sun shine on you the whole time you are there.

Oops!  Just read back and found out you were kidding and there was me green with envy!  Hope you do get to go eventually.   Of course, I am prejudiced but I think it is a beautiful country despite its sometimes gloomy weather.  I never had trouble convincing my husband it was time for another trip.  He was treated like visiting royalty by my family and thought there was nothing better than a cosy pub with a blazing fire, a pint and a ploughman's lunch on a gloomy day!
