Tiger. let's talk about the elephant in the room first. the US Open.
there was lots going on this weekend.
and the look on your face during your interview on
Saturday made me wanna cry. i knew something was
wrong. but i was hoping for your own sake that you
could put it behind you by Sunday in time for your
first tee shot. of course you know if you did or not,
but i had the feeling that you had not done it by your
first tee shot .....
i have been there and done that too. exactly that. yeah.
have had such great disappointments that i had to wrestle
with it, just to let it go, so i could get back on track and be
on my merry way. not always easy, but it is possible. sigh.
anyway...............
well. cjane, (c j ) a member here in the club was able to
access your round on satellite i think and she graciously
gave us updates while you were on the back nine.
and i especially liked it when she said a little kid
said something to the effect of "come on, Tiger" and you
gave him/her a big smile. :-)
well. it seems you began to feel a little better back there
on the back nine. and we were all happy to hear about it.
she also mentioned that "Double D" (David Duval ) was a
guest commentator and he said really great things about
you. and also spoke about how much he admires you.
of course you are my # 1 fave, but Duval is one of my
other fave golfers. :-)
but back to golf. i will say this. you are only human. and
when those greens effected your putting speed, especially
in a US Open, to me, that was like being s ucker punched.
and nobody likes that. and yeah. it can take a minute .... or two to get over it.
especially when you are not expecting it. your reaction was
only human. and though i was hoping that you could at
best set your disappointment on a shelf in time for the start
of the 4th round, seems it took you just a bit longer.....
but those are the times when we sometimes have to fight
really hard to bring our emotions back under control.
for our own benefit ...... and it is possible to do. i know. i know u know it.
so i won't de-humanize your emotions. they are what they are,
and on that day, they were what they were.
o.k. let me move forward here. the US Open aside for now;
i hope you were able to enjoy the day that praises dads for being dads.
you are a great dad and i hope you were able to enjoy
Father's Day. :-)
and some of the members posted that today is Sam's
birthday and i hope she has had, and is having a fun
birthday!!! :-)
i will post again tomorrow.
