Thanks Doug,    I didn't come away as it being a problem so much with the drive.   It was the shots after that,  especially the third shot after the layup's.   Most of the holes he was at the yardage he wanted to be.   For a variety of reasons he wasn't able to execute that approach shot well and didn't leave himself with a reasonable chance to sink the putt.

You're wrong Goat.  Look at the numbers.  He played conservatively off the tee in nice conditions the first two days, shot 67 both days for -6.  -7 won the tournament!  He only has to shoot -2 over the two day weekend to win!  That should have been well within reason.  I was with you and thought he needed to change his gameplan and not leave 200+ into nearly every pin but when the dust settled his gameplan would have worked had he executed just a little better.  Even if he misses the green on 6 as long as he is not in the bunker he doesn't get a triple.  He had birdied the hole, the hardest on the course, the first 3 days.

You said it all!!    Tired of the comments on what Tiger should have done.  When you are #2 in the world and #1 w/Fed Ex points -  must be doing something right.

Always amazing to me how people who have a) never been a pro golfer   b) never played in a PGA tour tournament    c) never played in a PGA Major tournament   d) never won 74 PGA tournaments     e) never won 14 Majors    f) never been the #1 golfer in the world etc., etc., etc. can think that they can watch a golf tournament on TV (not even on the course) and tell the golfer who has done all of the aforementioned  what he's doing wrong!!!!!  Absolutely amazes me!!!!
