Maybe.....maybe not!  The point I was making was Miller has had a respectable golf career which gives some credibility to his being a golf analyst.  His career was not just 2 majors! 

Was it equivalent to or better than Tiger's to date?  No.  Have other golfers met and exceeded his record...Yes.  Will some of the young guns exceed his record....Yes.  But the point remains:  Miller is worthy, based on his career on tour to offer commentary of current play.  Plus, if we watch 7 nights @ the Academy, we just might learn something from him and the others (Nobilo, Faldo, Floyd). 

My point in bringing Miller's record to this forum was to shed some light on who this man is.  Some posters were really dissing the guy and it was apparent to me that they knew little if anything about him. 

Personally, I don't care for this current trend of some to put down others and feel that the media is the enemy which needs to be distroyed.  Perhaps we need to remember that Tiger nevers disses another player, nor does he attack the media for what may truly be unfair reporting.  We often hear Tiger say, "It is what it is"....."Winning takes care of everything"....."He is entitled to his opinion".  To attempt to "rally" Club members to boycott a show that will headline some of golf's great players is in my opinion not narrow minded, but closed minded. 

 

i never said anything about boycotting his show.  I watch all kinds of shows on GC.  I am not a miller fan, i woud rather watch Breed.  I probably won't watch the miller show, its not my cup of tea.  I will probably go play Opti golf instead.  Miller is what he is, and was what he was.    I had other favorites that i liked when he played.  

I didn't say you were encouraging others to boycott.....I said "some posters".....

Breed is going to part of the series too.  I watch him quite regularly.  Just love all his training aides (baby swimmies, pool toys, etc.)  Quite imaginative ;-))

Hi vg, I watched a lot but didn't see Nobilo say much negative at all about Tiger, personally I have a great deal of respect for him and pretty much only him except for Charlie Rhymer.  Remember one tourney where our #1 commentator -  Chamblee was going off on TW's swing change and after going on and on, Nobilo politely advised Chamblee TW was looking for a change for longevity in his career. 

Well, as we know, Chamblee continued to ask that same question over and over and I even saw Nobilo roll his eyes and when the lead commentator ask Frank for his opinion he just had a look on his face like, why doesn't this guy get it and chose to not say anything!  It got pretty silent for a bit.  Don't know if you have noticed or not but after the merger of NBC and TGC Chamblee covers the nationwide or champions tour.  Somehow he got a gig teaching football and other basketball players.  And Nobilo is back after the PC cup.  He actually won more tourneys combined than Chamblee ever did by far when they were playing.  I guess the saying: those who can't do, teach has some merit to it.  I do remember Nobilo saying something once but it had nothing to do with the swing change.  And, when the merger happened Nobilo and Chamblee were the commentators but read an article in GolfWorld that Bob Kostis dressed down Chamblee and we haven't seen much of him since.  NBC new, that whether Tiger did well or not, he was still the money maker for NBC (maybe CBS - may have those wrong) - and to have a 2 time winner who gave up golf when that 19 year old "phenom" came on the scene, I've gotta say, it's the smartest thing Chamblee ever did!  AND he certainly made millions himself from TW!
