When that putt went in the hole, the hair stood up on my arms and I immediately started to cry!  That was just watching it on TV.....can you imagine the emotional level if you were there in person/

It would have been awesome. I still think it looked like Tiger was on the edge of crying over it too. If he didn't.

UPT:

Actually Gary Kock said the famous "Better than most", in reply to Johnny Miller's question - how does that look?

Johnny then said, "how bout in".

But I'm not really picky.

lol !!!

well.   and here i always thought it was Johnny Miller.

i thought someone said,  Johnny, how does it look?

and i thought it was Johnny who coined the

"better than most"  phrase that we all love to quote.

lol !!!

thanks for the correction.  but do you mind my asking,

how do you know for sure.

thanks.

I've watched the replay of that shot 100s of times and Gary Kock talks about it as his best moment as an analyst. He was stationed at 17th hole that day and Johhny asked, so how does it look right after Tiger hit the putt and the ball turned down the rise towards the lower level of the green. Gary responded: Johnny, it's better than most, better than most. Then as the ball was turning towards the hole, Johnny said how bout in. One of the most interesting points about it, was that Phil was playing with Tiger that day (3rd round), and he had just putted well past the hole.

I'm sure that there is a video of it.

thanks!

and my apologies to Gary Koch.   :-)

i knew i heard Miller's name mentioned,

and for some reason i had it turned around.

and Gary Koch has coined a wonderful and
fun phrase which we all love to quote
regarding Tiger's putt that day on the 17th
hole.

and of course, it was a loverly, "better than most"  putt.

:-)

and when Tiger talked about it in his video chat, he
said he was just trying to get it close to the hole.

The video is at  www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BBO6n7HR3o&feature=relmfu

Look at about the 3:10minute point on this as Gary describes it.
