Actually, Troll, much of what you said I agree with.   However, I'm unsure exactly how you would like me to rectify it?  Do you suggest we ban the 4 folks you mentioned, several of whom have been here for many years?

I have called out various people for being too quick to tell a poster to go away or for being unfriendly.   However, just as I've asked them and others to modify their tone, so have I asked everyone that if there is a thread you dislike - DON'T READ IT AND DON'T POST ON IT!   Don't like stats?   Ignore Bill's posts.   Don't like "rah-rah" stuff?   Ignore Eye and UPT.   Don't want to see famous quotes?  Ignore Paul's.  

The only person here required to read them ALL is me and I just most of the time shake my head quietly at stuff that annoys or amuses me and read on.   Why is that so difficult for others to do?

I hate to see VG leave too but she's a grown woman and must make her own decisions where she wants to invest her time and input.   Over the 15 years or so I've been on this forum, many folks have come and gone......it's the nature of the beast.

Ahhh!!!!  The voice of reason!!!!  We'd all like to go back to the fun virtual party days where that's all we had to think about was what we were going to contribute to the virtual menu and cheering Tiger on!!!!

I would like for you to tell / show me where I have called out anyone, for complementing Rory or Phil, or for comparing them to Tiger. Because I don't care. The only 'person' I say anything negative to is the returning troll who, ENDLESSLY stalks and attacks me, Bill and others. The troll who very often gets vulgar with his comments towards myself or another members of these boards, he also got very negative towards Donnakay yesterday. Some, and at times, all members will be attacked by the same 'person' for anything they say, even when it is in jest, they (and myself) will be attacked. I got several negative post from the troll for the Twitter thread, why I have no idea, it's a fun thing and many members enjoy it. The forever returning troll of multiple names is not the only one to attack everyone. UPT, Bill, EYE and myself can take the attacks up to a point, then need to say something, which is what the troll is looking for to feed his / their sick ego.
DK asked me to stop replying to them and I have been doing my utmost to do just that.

Clearly, you have a thankless job. But allow me one question. In reviewing some of EYE's posts, do you not find a recurring mean-spirited tone there? I think we can agree that VG was a pretty sincere fan of Tiger, as well as one who loved the game of golf. Look at some of the posts from EYE that were directed at VG. I don't think she deserved even a small portion of the criticism heaped upon here by EYE. During my time here, I think VG contributed much more to this forum than EYE did, yet EYE stays and VG feels unwelcome enough to call it quits. What's wrong with this picture?

 I assume that everyone on this forum is an adult, reasonably intelligent, and interested in talking about Tiger Woods. The various threads do introduce a variety of opinion and positions, all of them probably valid. I certainly don't want to offend anyone when I disagree with their opinions by expressing my thoughts on the particular subject. I would hope that applies to all. It would be a lot more enjoyable to avoid personal attachs on one another.

 

Donna, I wasn't intending to get involved in a to and fro. Here are a couple of examples that pinpoint my concerns. Recently two Trolls ( according to the Fab 4 ) had a discussion about Allen Doyle. It was one of the best reads I've had here in all my years. It was civilized and informative. A Fab 4 somehow baits the Troll , and they are banned. The posts vanish and a good read is gone forever.  Move forward to today.  EYE starts a thread. TIGER'S NOTORIOUS BODY GUARDS

This thread contains the same information as his other 2000 posts.  Did anyone NOT know 14 majors ETC ETC ETC?  In the thread up pops Underpar to throw in an "iffy" comment. WHY?  When EYE is not REPEATING the same garbage each and every day he is relentlessly attacking anyone he and his goons have in their sights. Recently it was VG and she has been driven away .  In all my time here I have yet to see EYE make a valuable contribution.

Another example. If anyone ( except you) said they would read Hank's book they were vilified. I think you escaped because you have a finger on the button...LOL
The Fab 4 were on a serious hate campaign over this. I mentioned I would read it.  Silly me. !!

If you want most evidence look up and down this thread.  There are voices of reason and  2 of the Fab 4 have attempted to bully the other voices here.

  Donna, I agree with you 100% about where members can elect to go on this forum. I don't care for the 'ra-ra'  stuff. So I never visit. But the Fab 4 seem to feel they can  destroy any and all threads they so with?

   Months ago someone set up a thread about golf in general. It was killed by the Fab4.  VG summed it up perfectly. Unless one is prepared to offer up their first born as a sacrifice it means you are not a dedicated Tiger Fan.

  Here is a hypothetical example of how this forum operates these days.

 New Member posts.  " Hi, did you see Faldo on TGC. He thinks Tiger lacks confidence."

  Bill. " Tiger 3,400 Wins, Faldo 2."

New Member, " I actually quite like Faldo."

Paul, " IFFY ALERT IFFY ALERT."

UNDERpar, " Thanks Paul.  SECURITY!!!   GO TIGER."

 EYE. "  14 Majors...........etc etc etc."

New Member. " F you I can like Faldo if I like ."

   New member is now banned.    Fab 4 have driven off a 3 post newbie.

Lets be honest. VG has been hounded out of here because her opinion differs from the Fab 4.  I believe it was EYE who was exceptionally nasty.  Put it this way. If EYE was a new member I'd bet you would have banned him for his spiteful attitude. ( I keep saying "his" I've never paid close enough attention. If you've read one post you've read them all. )

   In summation, I would never was to see anyone banned from here unless the reasons were glaringly obvious.  Donna, you have ALWAYS taken a firm grip of the REAL Trolls here. I think it's time you took an equally firm grip on those who think they own this forum.

 Constitutional Rights? It's a chat forum, for God's Sake. Nothing to do with the Constitution  A highly regarded long time member has been bullied by the Fab 4.
