Seems like I heard the talking heads say Tiger had the flu and a 102 degree temperature.

I may have made a mistake but I am pretty sure this is what several announcers said. ...but I stand corrected. Why didn't you comment on the fact that he was sick and didn't quit and also  the implication that he won because it was a weak field. Just wondering!

It wasn't a weak field in the beginning and definitely was not at the end, but some didn't make the cut and others withdrew. That is not Tiger's fault. If he wins the US Open, I would love to hear them say that the field was weak again, I may just agree with them. These people are desperate because they had written Tiger off and if he has a resurgence a lot of these so-called journalists will need something else to talk about or find have to find a new job because they will become irrelevant fast. There are tournaments with so-called "weak" fields specifically the one coming up and the ones where Dufner, Rory and Rickie won this year. Personally I don't think there is such as thing as a "weak" field. I think the players that have never won or who are ranked lower are more dangerous and better than the ones that have.

I have now reached the realization that the haters, the trolls, and the M*RONS in the media are NEVER going to let up. If TIGER CAN TAKE IT, I CAN TOO!!!! Hopefully if we ignore them all, eventually they will crawl off to the holes they crawled out of in the first place. I think maybe dealing with it with humor like TIGER is doing is the most effective method to let them know we think they are chumps.

What? It was an first class field. Much stronger than Bay Hill. It was a strong strong field.

Tiger had a bit of flu. He didn't have bubonic plague . Everyone on earth feels off color from time to time.

They get on with it. Tiger isn't claiming to be Lazarus.  A great win. A win for the ages. But not a win from a guy who should have been in ER.

Someone put in this thread that Tiger was up against a "weak field". Where does that mentality come from? Tiger could play in Memphis today, and that might be a "weak field" but so what. I read on the forum awhile ago that years ago the PGA recognized as winners two and four ball tournaments. Now, those should not even be considered PGA Wins in comparison to Tiger's PGA wins. Any PGA tournament, no matter the field, weak or strong, is a W. I would love to read the comments if Tiger plays Memphis some year.
