    • Will Tiger make the Cut at the US Open
  • 6/10/12
Number of missed cuts for Rory would depend on which tour we are talking about. According to my calculations from Wikipedia, he has missed 15 cuts on the European tour and 8 on the PGA tour. I am not positive this is right on the money but it is very close. To me all this proves is even the very good golfers miss cuts from time to time. Which is why Tiger's record for missed cuts is quite astounding! But then I don't need to tell you that---LOL.

I was estimating roughly......believe he's been a pro for 4 years maybe 5.....so 23 missed cuts is way too many for one of the media's designated "elite" golfers!!

VG, for one as talented as Rory, he has missed an astounding number of cuts. It's hard to figure, for sure. As for Tiger, anyone who bets on him missing the cut this week at The Olympic Club has about a 1% chance of winning that wager. I like Tiger's chances of playing next weekend!

Here is an interesting quote from Paul Azinger regarding Rory's missed cuts. This was in today issue of SB Nation online.

Another notable group will be defending champ Rory McIlroy, world No. 1 Luke Donald, and Lee Westwood teeing off at 4:29 p.m. Thursday from the first tee. Strange’s colleague Paul Azinger shrugged off McIlroy’s recent struggles, saying his three consecutive missed cuts were “just no big deal.

“He's only 23 years old,” Zinger noted, although he disagreed with those players who dubbed McIlroy “the next Tiger Woods” as the young Northern Irishman was clubbing them into submission during last year’s Open.

“He's not Tiger Woods,” Azinger said. “He missed seven cuts in one year. Tiger missed eight cuts in 14 years. So he's a normal kid, and he plays abnormal golf. He's unbelievable. An unbelievable player. I love watching him swing the club.

“But,” Azinger reiterated, “he's not Tiger.”

BUT THEN WHO IS TIGER. THE ONE AND THE ONLY TIGER WOODS!!! GO TIGER! BEAT 18!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ya' betcha!!!!  Honestly I don't believe Rory will ever be able to challenge Tiger's record.  I view him more like Sergio......talented, but not dedicated enough to truly become a legend.

Now there is a comparison. Sergio has just never lived up to his hype.

Tiger had a goal that he set at a very early age. He continues to strive daily to reach that goal. Not very many people have a goal when they are a child that they will work that hard for even into adulthood. As you said about Sergio, they may have the talent but they do not have the dedication. Strictly because of Tiger's dedication, I hope he achieves his goal.

exactly......Tiger has not only the dedication but also the extraordinary talent.  I believe he will reach that goal set as a youngster as long as he remains healthy.  That's the key......staying healthy!!
