I agree with underpartoday...it was tiger's course management skills that made him become the dominant player he was....Tiger never threw tantrums in pressure situations where he won...for example you never saw tiger toss the club, kick, whatever during the last two holes of the Chevron last year, he composed himself and won....Steve Williams had a point, greg norman could've been as great as tiger but he didn't have tiger's innate ability to let go and focus on the next shot...It seems (just my perspective) like tiger is letting the pressure and anger overcome him...i've never seen tiger this lost or angry before in a tournament...yes he has tossed clubs and cursed on occasions in the past but not this much in one tournament

i want Tiger to have fun.

one of the things i have

noticed is that when

Tiger hits a bad putt,

and does not make the

putt, he walks up to the

hole and disdainfully and

non-chanlantly taps the

ball into the hole.  with

one hand sometimes.

he doesn't even stand

over the putt and give

it respect.  that has

been bothering me for

a long time.  that tells

me that he is angry and

that he is carrying that

anger to the next hole.

also.  regarding scores.

he could still miss a putt

like that even though it is

close.

finally.   i have NEVER

seen him treat a putt like

that.

tmania,

thanks, buddy.

i am sure pulling for Tiger

to get his form back.

and you are right.

he was able to let go and

move on to and focus on

the next shot.

he had to work on it, but

he figured it out and he

started dominating golf.

sure he still cussed, etc.

but for the most part, he

was able to remain calm

and focus on the task at

hand until the tourney

was over.

II'm a retiree now, so I have LOTS of time to watch the various sports shows and blogs for reactions to Tiger's dispalys at the Masters. IMHO, the reactions to it are much worse on golf shows/blogs than other sports shows. However, it is common on all of them, It is a negative view of Tiger. As a fan, I certainly defend Tiger whenever he comes up among my golf buddies, but the club kicking is really inexcusable.

Whether we like it or not, Tiger will continue to get more negative press on his actions, regardless of the actions from other golfers. In the future, better couse management and controlled shots will change all for the better.

Well said TCN.

Tiger was a disgrace. He kicked the club. No one else. He needs to be heavily fined.

I'd fine Stenson and the rest as well.  Tiger swore for 4 days and his  behavior on 16 was astoundingly bad.

This defense of " Tiger isn't the only one." is getting a bit thin.

well said, tcnbtx.

i agree.

Tiger is not the only one with poor course management and bad behavior.

if you want to call and express (nicely) your opinion to the pga tour here

are some numbers i copied from the "contact  us" link on pgatour.com.

if you don't want to talk to them nicely, don't bother talking.  they will probably

hang up.   and i would not blame them.   lol !!!

there have been people (while watching t.v. ) who have called and reported infractions of other

golfers  during tourneys and caused them to be disqualified.

so.   if you or your friends see other golfers  exhibiting bad behavior while you are:

at a tourney

or

watching on television

try one of the numbers below to report it.

make sure you indicate the hole on which it happened.

and make sure you know the golfers name.
this part has to be correct.
   :-)

tape the tourney so you can send them video of it.   if you have a camera with you or

on your phone, take a pic.   if you have a video camera, video tape it and send it to the

pga.

one thing for sure.   Tiger is gonna get most of the ink (attention)  at a tourney.

MOST EYES AND CAMERAS WILL CONTINUE TO BE ON HIM.

and to be honest, the pga officials can't be everywhere on a HUGE GOLF COURSE AND SEE

EVERYTHING.   and i am not speaking about the marshalls.   they are volunteers.

i am talking about officials.

SO:

below are the numbers i copied from the pga tour website.
i have never called but i just got this from pgatour.com on their
"contact us"  link.
one of these numbers ought to work.    there is also an email address.

Say you well-informed TW Fanatics, in what tournament is Tiger next playing?  I must have missed the announcement or he has not commited yet.  I am hopelessly bored on days he is not playing.

  • 4/10/12
We are still waiting for him to tell us........
