I get the saving money on gas and clothes and shoes .... I do exactly the same thing.  But I do tip at Sonic because the people who work there make minimum wage ... the real money is from their tips.  Having worked as a waitress at one time in my life, I know how much those tips are counted on.  And the tips aren't added into the service at a salon.  In most salons, the hairdressers rent space from the owner or they give him a large percentage of what they bring in ... the only person I won't tip at a hairdresser is the owner.

I tip waiters & waitresses at restaurants if I sit down for dinner and the service is not bad. Sonic is so to go. Maybe I will rethink the Sonic car hops. We'll see.
As for salons, I rarely go now but, when I did I wasn't  tipping because of the cost and I was rarely satisfied with how my hair turned out. If I pay $50 - $60 for a wash and straighten I expect  some type of conditioning product to be used and I expect my hair to last more than a day.

B18T, I have a  suggestion for you....  first of your right to expect, after straightening, your hair should last more than a day. but it's does make a different where you go and who does your hair!! I try to educate my client on how to take care of there hair at home on there own...  by suing good appliance and products will make a world of different !! I highly recommend the Farouk Chi flat iron and dryer, baby bliss is also good flat iron to use for your hair( chi original iron)

They have been short because when I was pregnant I use to visit them twice a day! LOL

Sounds like you are talking about the Brazillian blow out. I've read about it and seen the reviews and it's not for me.

I wear my hair natural now so I rarely go to salons but, thanks for the info.

I never considered it because it's too much like going to the drive thru window.
Places like Chicken Express has a drive thru window but, they send people to your car to take your order. I don't tip them either. *Kanye shrug*

NOPE, not  that one , I know  all about that one , but no, there are others like the Chi Enviro  blow out or the Karetin blow out, google it, for get the brazillan!!
