Good thinking with the alternates.

   As you know, I have been using alternates for several weeks.  The practice I knew made common sense.   

   It is my opinion the use of alternates should follow the policy of the PGA Tour.    Alternates should be granted only before the start of the tournament whenever a golfer goes WD etc.    Once the tournament starts if a pick WD, no alternate should be substituted for that golfer.     

 

This isn't the PGA Tour lol. If a player WDs because of injury, the person who picked him shouldn't be punished. Saying that, I'll do 2 rounds. If a player WDs before the official cut is made, I will take an alternate assuming he hasn't missed the cut.

I know Club Tiger is not the PGA Tour.    There is no Commissioner here @ Club Tiger.     :)  :)

Punishment is part of life and life can be unfair.      LOL    LOL

LOL. What I meant was. I know that if someone picked an alternate before the tournament begins, the pick is final. So even if the alternate happened to do well, kudos to the person who picked him. I just hate punishing someone because their player was injured and they did not know. That's the whole point of the alternates. I'll meet you halfway and do a 2 round cut off. If a player WDs before the end of the 2nd round, in comes the alternate. If a player WDs after the 2nd round, tough.

Okay.  

I started adding alternates before the rest of Club Tiger because I had to select Charles Warren (who?) as an alternate when Angel Carbrera dropped out on a Tuesday.   Carbrera's WD was not posted on the PGA Tour's website so I selected him as a weekly pick. 

As I stated last week, now I keep NOTES on how I am doing and the RULES pertaining to Club Tiger's weekly contest.
