I bet all the golfers are actually looking forward to playing at The Open not for all the obvious reasons but because it will BE COOLER. Playing golf in this heat is wearing even for a rank amateur like me. It just drains all your energy. I know Tiger is in tip top condition but it still takes its toll. Here's to cooler weather and TIGER getting his #15 at THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP.

GO TIGER! BEAT 18!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

re:  the hot weather.

i heard Tiger say on one of his interviews,

that he has a very high metabolism.

and when he plays in a tournament, it really

kicks into high gear and he can often lose

weight while he is playing a tournament.

throw in the sweltering weather, and he

has to be pro-active about it.

and i think that might be one of the

reasons we saw him eating so much

in between holes at the at&t and also

@  the greenbrier.

:-)

I can always tell I am dehydrating during play in hot weather as I never have a need to use the restroom. I drink lots of fluids but obviously I am sweating them out. A cold towel around my neck is sometimes the only thing that saves me when the temps hit over 100 and the humidity is 60% +. It is just not much fun under those conditions for ANYONE!!!!!

Shenlee, I love the hot weather and your suggestions certainly help. The hot weather helps me play better with my aching joints and old muscles ( or lack of  these days). It also cuts down on the number of people playing in late afternoon, so I can get around in 2 1/2 hours. Love it.

Getting around any course in 2 1/2 hours is wonderful. My great good friend (who passed away) and I used to love to play golf at 8 a.m. when it was really hot. We both loved to play "speed" golf as I call it. If it was just the two of us with no one in front of us we could play the full 18 holes in under 2 1/2 hours. Unfortunately, I don't play nearly as good of golf when I have to play slowly. I think it was because I got spoiled to speed golf and it messes up my tempo. Luckily, at this point in my life I don't have the muscle and joint aches you are describing but I am sure my time will come---darn!

You are telling Tiger that Webb Simpson is a JINX to his play on tour.    You could have a point, it's something for Club Tiger to take note of and Tiger too.           :)

I knew Tiger was paired with Webb when he WD.......Webb commented how he was surrounded by Tiger galleries and when WD he was not only playing alone, but the crowds left too.  Are you sure they were paired together last time Tiger missed the cut???

PS.....Don't think Tiger would ever feel "jinxed" by being paired with Webb or anyone else for that matter.  Tiger plays his own game!
