Yes, he is the crown Prince..the future of golf according to the Golf Channel analysts...and he can do no wrong. I didn't see him slam his club but I saw him mouth an expletive that was very audible and obvious...but nothing was mentioned. As we have all said before..if it were Tiger, it would make headlines around the world. Even saw JD spitting and we all remember how Tiger was chastized for that. They ranted and raved about Rory and now that he is not playing up to the standards they expect..no criticism at all. Yesterday, after one of Rory's great shots,Osterhuis was yelling that he is back. Of course, according to all the talking heads: Tiger is not back unless he wins a major!!! They begrudge him any victories he has had this year..and should he win at Olympic...they will find some other reason to criticize him.
Don't know if any of you watch the program Feherty but his interviews are quite funny as well as informative. Just watched one in which he interviewed Roger Maltbee and they both agree that the media has a different standard for Tiger. They treat him unfairly and have taken the enthusiasm out of Tiger. Tthey see nothing wrong with anyone slamming a club in anger etc. because that is the nature of the game. ..and they mentioined several great players who were never afraid of expressing their anger. What I enjoyed the most is their emphasis on how much they miss Tiger, how much fun and excitement there was in watching him whether he was winning or losing. Feherty expressed his longing to see Tiger as he was..and felt so nostalgic when he used the word "was." as he hoped to see that Tiger again.
Tiger fans, this is worth watching as it is so uplifting and expresses what most of us feel about Tiger. It is particularly special when these analysts are not afraid to give Tiger the credit that is due...and it helps us to ignore all the other negativity.
