Yes it really is off the wall. Tiger very rarely misses cuts. He played horrible at the Masters, but still made the cut. Aside from when he missed the cut, he's never really even came close to missing the cut in the U.S. Open all the other years. Muirfield played closer to a U.S. Open setup than Bay Hill did to a Masters setup. The greens were speedy and the conditions were different all 4 days which is what you will get in San Fran. The only area Tiger's putting is consistently off is the 10-20 foot range. He is great outside of 20 feet and pretty solid inside 10 feet still. He will be fine at the U.S. Open. Tiger's short game is also sharp too which will help also.

Anyone that would ask that question does not know golf.  Tiger not making the Cut at the us open is like the sun not comming up in the morning.  It just won't happen.  Tiger looks way more comfortable on the course then he has looked in many years.  I am not basing it on his last tournement, even tho he showed the old way of taking over and winning, im basing it on golf, It is hard to play the game, even harder to make the cut, but Tiger has only missed 7 cuts in a career.  No ohter player in history has missed so few cuts for the number of tournements.  Phil the great has missed moer than 30.  Rory missed 3 in a row and i dont know the number that he has missed i would guess he has already missed at least 7.   if you put it at 50/50 your not a fan and probably not in tune with Tiger and the sport of golf. 

Rory has missed at least 2 cuts each year since turning pro......so probably 8-9 in his young career!

 

Number of missed cuts for Rory would depend on which tour we are talking about. According to my calculations from Wikipedia, he has missed 15 cuts on the European tour and 8 on the PGA tour. I am not positive this is right on the money but it is very close. To me all this proves is even the very good golfers miss cuts from time to time. Which is why Tiger's record for missed cuts is quite astounding! But then I don't need to tell you that---LOL.
