My thing with Tiger is this I follow 3 entities in sports the Baltimore Orioles, the University of Tennessee and Tiger. The first two I mentioned are lost causes so the only hope in my sports world is Tiger so I'm must be getting impatient for the return of his dominance.

well i follow the Yankees, and i look at him like jeter, he has a couple of bad years and they called for him to retire...  but now he is back to hitting over 300 and he is every media guys favorite. oh and by theway i used to follow the O's when i lived in sothern Md.  Used to go to memorial stadium i moved before the new one was built.  Back then it was the Cal Os.

You tell me. The two winningest guys currently active in the world both have never favored accuracy in their games. They've made a living on their short games. Tell me, out of all Tiger's signature moments, which ones came with a driver in hand? None of them. They've all been great chips or putts. No better example than Tiger's last major win. On the 72nd hole, he missed the fairway, but still made a birdie to force a playoff. Why? Because he made a 10 footer with the PUTTER. Not the driver.

Look at Lee Westwood. Best driver in the game, no majors. Look at Bubba Watson. Hits it everywhere, major champion.  Ernie Els hit it crooked a lot with his driver, still won the Claret Jug.

I'd disagree with that. You aren't going to knock it stiff everytime. Even the most crooked drivers still hit more than half of their fairways. You make a score in the 15-20 foot putt range. Those are the guys that win tournaments. The ones who make those putts.

i would say more tournements have been won between 15 and 20 feet.  but you could be right... i know many have bee lost inside 10 feet...

Okay I really don't care that much. But what about Ken Duke this guy is 3rd in total 1 putts - 15-20' .   3rd in total 1 putts - 20-25'.   1st in total 1 putts - 10-15'.   3rd in total 1 putts - 5-10'.   And 4th in total 1 putts - Inside 5'.  But tied for 109th in total driving.(distance and accuracy) And he's only 40th on the money list. With those putting stats you'd think he'd be number one in the world.

i do get what your saying and you put it all in context very well .  I like that about some of the people on this board.  Ken Duke is an awesome putter, however, when some of those one puts are for bogey is what kills him.  I believe he is not ranked high in sand or scrambling.  I would love if they did a state that was broken down say like 1 puts for bogey, 1 puts for par, one puts for birdie.  I think you would find that the players on the top of the money list would be pretty high in 1 puts for par and birdie.  If it is broken down somewhere could you tell me where.

www.pga.com forward slash then r forward slash then stats and another forward slash.

There's stats that tell what pros go in the left rough the most and what players go in the right rough the most.
