gppg,   :-)

yeah.  it's ok that we disagree.  but i believe course management comes

into play at all times.  no matter how a golfer is hitting it.

sometimes it is more noticeable than at other times.  but i believe it can

help a person dig out of a hole, or at least , help to make the hole smaller.

even if it is nothing more than walking away from a bad day or a bad shot,

with a better outlook and good perspective for the next tourney or the next shot.

commentators don't  talk about course management they way they used to.

but it still has an impact on the player and his/her game.

one has to be able to stay on top of their emotions, not allowing bad

feelings and emotions to take control of what they are doing on the golf

course.  it does not mean a peson goes into denial.  it just means that

a person makes sure they stay in the right frame of mind as they are

playing.    if angry and negative emotions take control, it can and does

effect a golfers performance.   and i believe i could see it in Tiger's

play.  and i have been seeing it for the better  part of a year, i just

did not pay much attention to it because  he used to have such

great course management.    but now i realize that is what i have

been noticing.  yes.  the swing change is in process, etc., but i also

think his course management has to be sured up as well.

it helps a golfer to quickly  put bad shots, etc. , behind them as they

approach their next shot.   and when they can clearly focus on what

they want to do on each shot, they begin to have and keep the

advantage.

18,

when Tiger's club went into the gallery,

i believe that was an accident.

and thank goodness, no one appeared to

be hurt.

I think Feherty is right.  He needs to have fun again.  And he's equated fun with winning, but it's not for a lot of guys and doesn't have to be for Woods.  Play the game like everyone else does, because you enjoy it and don't equate winning or dominating with fun.  They don't have to be the same thing even if that's what you obviously want to do when you're out there.

I'm in no way saying Eldrick won't get back or anything like that, I just believe he's right.  And Feherty never says anything about what he thinks E needs to do, but he said it kind of came to him on Saturday while watching Woods.  He's been there, equating a feeling to happiness that isn't actually happiness.  You just think it is because it's what you want.

I think u got the definition of course management totally wrong. U mean anger management.

Course management is hitting it in the right spots, laying up when necessary, choosing what club to hit off the tee, etc.

I agree with underpartoday...it was tiger's course management skills that made him become the dominant player he was....Tiger never threw tantrums in pressure situations where he won...for example you never saw tiger toss the club, kick, whatever during the last two holes of the Chevron last year, he composed himself and won....Steve Williams had a point, greg norman could've been as great as tiger but he didn't have tiger's innate ability to let go and focus on the next shot...It seems (just my perspective) like tiger is letting the pressure and anger overcome him...i've never seen tiger this lost or angry before in a tournament...yes he has tossed clubs and cursed on occasions in the past but not this much in one tournament

i want Tiger to have fun.

one of the things i have

noticed is that when

Tiger hits a bad putt,

and does not make the

putt, he walks up to the

hole and disdainfully and

non-chanlantly taps the

ball into the hole.  with

one hand sometimes.

he doesn't even stand

over the putt and give

it respect.  that has

been bothering me for

a long time.  that tells

me that he is angry and

that he is carrying that

anger to the next hole.

also.  regarding scores.

he could still miss a putt

like that even though it is

close.

finally.   i have NEVER

seen him treat a putt like

that.

tmania,

thanks, buddy.

i am sure pulling for Tiger

to get his form back.

and you are right.

he was able to let go and

move on to and focus on

the next shot.

he had to work on it, but

he figured it out and he

started dominating golf.

sure he still cussed, etc.

but for the most part, he

was able to remain calm

and focus on the task at

hand until the tourney

was over.
