That is no reason to justify the behavior... by either party.

Most women don't care about Tiger's infidelities. I see and hear more men complaining about the infidelities than women.

The part that bothered me about this whole thing is that Tiger fell on the sword and took the blame for everything. I know women who are married to professional athletes and I know women who seek out athletes and wealthy men. They know what they are getting into when they get involved with these guys. The guys don't go out of their way to hide their actions at least not from their wives and girlfriends. A few of them don't bother to try hiding it from the media.  They are pretty open with their indiscretions and Tiger was no different.  I heard these stories about Tiger years ago. So why was Tiger the only one being held accountable for his choices?

Tiger's mistake was selling an image that was a lie but, he is not the first one who sold himself as something he's not and he won't be the last. The only real victims in these situations are the children.

Truth is, only 4 women came forward so the real problem is speculation.  Fact:  GolfWorld March 2011 - article was written with interviews given by several ex-pros who stated that since the days of Arnie it was a known fact that most of the players had a woman at every stop on the tour and they all knew which pro engaged in it.  They went on to say that Tiger would look like a sugar cube compared to what was routine during their time.

Bottom line:  Doesn't excuse it but nobody knows how many or if there were payoffs.  The only payoff I got rumor of was the original and who knows if that is even true.  Only Tiger knows and the fact is, he certainly isn't the only pro sport celeb to engage in that activity and won't be the last.  Bottom line:  No pro has ever had this much scrutiny for this long, interesting why that is.  Heck, the kid that got caught with weed and his buddies from the Nationwide tour only had a 3 day news cycle and they committed a crime!  Bottom line:  Tiger apologized for his behavior and he only has to answer to his kids, wife and higher power.  Sad part is, this continued scrutiny on one pro should be done and over with.  Let the man play golf.

Most of the girls that came forward said they never got any money from Tiger. I only remember 1 saying he paid for her shopping spree. The others said he bought them airline tickets to fly out to be with him but, none of the girls who talked were being taken care of by him.

Beat, I have to agree with most of your post but I truly never saw Tiger himself, try to sell his image as a family man.....the media did that.  Elin wasn't always there and yes when the kids came along of course he was happy but this happy family reunion exploitation is relatively new in the history of golf.  Only to be pronounced even more now because Tiger doesn't have the dutiful wife standing by with the kids.  Just another attempt by the media to shove it down Tiger's throat.  In the days before Tiger, we certainly didn't see much of it.
