Hi, 03, I saw some French this morning and it goes on for two weeks, and is it true that Rory is staying there rooting his girlfriend on his anniversary and has withdrawn from golf because he is afraid he will get CUT again in ohio ? : - ))) I heard also that Rory is afraid to face Tiger in ohio knowing they would be paired together, so are they paired in ohio, and who does the pairings in ohio ? : - )))

what??  Rory isnt withdrawing from golf that I have heard.  But I am pretty positive that his mind isn't totally focused on golf right now which is why he isn't playing up to snuff.  Rory is sorting out his life right now.  But I am sure golf will always play a role in it.

Rory's in love. Why do fools fall in love, because they are foolish and often "blind." He will get his "sight" back one of these days soon. Not a big Rory fan, naturally, but let's be fair. Youth is wasted on the young anyway. lol

I don't believe that Rory has anywhere near the mindset that Tiger had at his age regarding golf.  Rory is young and in love I guess....but you can't go zipping around after your girlfriend and not take care of your own career if you want to stay on top of this game.  Hard decision to make....and I hope he makes the right one for himself.  Living golf 24/7 as Tiger did isn't everyone's cup of tea....perhaps it isn't Rory's....he'll have to figure that out for himself or else learn to balance the two.....haven't met many young men his age these days who have figured out their lives yet.  I

I am watching the French Open and the commentators are saying that Caroline isn't up to snuff either.  They are in youthful love.  I think it is ok to let them have a life as well as their sport.  Some of Tiger's issues were because he never had that life to be free.  But they will figure it out and strike a balance.

I agree that everyone should have a balanced life.   It is a difficult balance to achieve when you also want to be the #1 golfer in the world!

Good point Granny. I think Tiger has only had one focus most of his life. The number 19. I think Rory is mixing golf with life. If he wins a few majors alone the way that's a bonus.
 Golf allows Rory to enjoy life. I don't think it was the case for Tiger. 19 became an ( maybe still is ) an obsession.

well I think rory wants to be number 1 but to stay there, you have to keep improving and working on your game.  Rory has been number 1 and maybe that is good enough for him right now.  I don't think the drive is there to maintain it as it was for Tiger. And who knows, maybe Rory is happy with his life like it is right now.  Maybe golf isn't his sole reason for existence.  LOL

Perhaps not....and he should choose whatever path makes him happy!  That's the path everyone should choose in life...the one that makes them and their loved ones happy!
