"My Dad died last New Year's Day and from the moment he passed away, there are two relatives that I have completely cut out of my life.  When Dad was alive, because they were his family, we gritted our teeth and were polite but there's no need anymore to fake it"

I'm sorry to hear about your dad!

However this was your prerogative to not have these people in your life? I believe so...

So why can't Tiger have the same option?

As a  TTF, Tiger has the right to interact with his family the way he deemed correct.    It is a shame this type of item makes the news around the time of the first major of the year in professional golf.       :(

There was a relationship there before so it's not the same circumstances with your family. They even mentioned in the radio interview that Kevin used to caddie for Tiger. I don't pretend to know what happened with him and his brothers and sister that's between them. I only hope they work it out.

This just shows that Tiger is also a regular guy. Just like 95% of us he has some bum relatives who do not mind hurting him so long as they can get some money out of it. On the eve of his potential return to his winning ways in the masters they sell a story like this because they know along with the buyer that if Tiger pays attention to the hate, it could throw him psychologically off and ruin his chances of returning to his winning ways in the masters.  WOW what loving relatives. I would recommend that Tiger keeps as far as he possible can from these types of loving relatives and totally focus on his game and the people around him who truely love him.  I hope Tiger remembers that he needs to focus on the people who love him not the haters. Both types of people will always be around and it is just up to him to focus on the right one.

Way to go DK. I personally have had it with Tiger being browbeat for anything and everything and much of it is right here on his own FORUM which he pays for. My Lord, to hear people tell it, Tiger is pretty much personally responsible for anything wrong in the universe. I love Tiger and Tiger's golf. I do not for one minute believe that I have ANY RIGHT to condemn or praise what he does in his personal life. I cannot imagine being Tiger and living in a fishbowl under a microscope. Celebrity or not he is entitled to the same rights and freedoms which every American is entitled to. And one of those rights is INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY!!

".....if anything, he should help his brother so he can avoid the unnecessary drama this would create."

If his brother became homeless, that would be a public relations nightmare for TW, not to mention a terrible disaster for his brother.

If TW's life altering experience taught him anything, it's that sometimes it's just easier to pay the money....no matter how you feel.

Isn't that the same as blackmail?
