The point I'm making is they had a relationship there because Granny and someone else asked if Earl Sr had a relationship with his kids after the divorce or if Tiger ever had a relationship with them.
I've listen to about two interviews Earl Jr has given over the years and from the interviews that I have heard he has never said anything disrespectful about Tiger. As a matter of fact he's defended Tiger against perceptions the media and public in general has about him.  He's never stooped to the level of Hank Haney, Butch Harmon, or Steve Williams who got more out of their relationships with Tiger financially and professionally.

Well Well Well!!!

Someone asked legimate questions this morning! LOL

I find it interesting that this is anyone's business at all. That is why I posted this article. It's amazing to me that once someone is famous people feel entitled to your money. So many famous people have cut family members out of their lives!!! And I love the statement that Earl Jr used.. Stating that Tiger shouldn't come back to them if he needs a bone marrow transplant or something... (WHAT)

It would be a kind gesture if Tiger helped his brother out, but he is not mandated to do so. I think a lot of people feel this way as well. This is yet another way to shame someone into doing something for you.

If Tiger doesn't want a relationship with you... so be it! If Tiger will not give you any money... so be it!!! That is Tiger and he will live with that...

I have a half brother that I was never particularly close to.... He is almost 18 years older than I am... However he fell on hard times and become homeless... So I didn't have a relationship with him and he never treated me nice.... HE WAS MAD THAT MY DAD NEVER MARRIED HIS MOTHER!!! That had nothing to do with me.  So if I was famous during that time all he had to do was talk to a journalist and guilt me into giving him some money.

Question: What would they do if Tiger was not their half brother?

I like you beat and maybe I'm looking at this differently, but if Tiger does not want a relationship with them is that not Tiger's prerogative?

This may be wrong in your eyes and others but this happens all the time. Tiger really does not owe them anything.

I guess this is what happens when you have money!!! And once again.... We do not know what conversations or arguments or tension that has transpired between them. I would be mad if my brother had said something out of the way to me or whatever and then used the

media to get money out of me. All I'm saying is look at the whole picture. Plus a lot of people are not falling for this.

Maybe Earl should have made provisions for them while he was still alive! You know that families can get dark after someone dies!!!

Beat, EARL JR says there was a relationship.   I question how much closeness there could be between a pre-schooler and a man in his 20's or between a middle school kid and a man in his 30's.   Especially when that adult didn't even live close by and only saw the child a few times a year.   I don't doubt the man had a relationship with his Dad but what's that got to do with Tiger?

As for a comparison between Earl Jr and the hired help (Haney, Williams, etc.), Earl Jr probably saw less of Tiger than any of them during Tiger's whole 36 years and probably doesn't have much to tell other than whining about being left our of Tiger's life and pocketbook.   If he's so hooked on the blood relationship and so "fond" of Tiger, why in the world would he give an interview like this where he definitely criticizes Tiger and even makes that ugly "donor" statement?   A case of do as I say not as I do???

As I said before, I don't have any more inside info on this family than anyone else but I've followed Tiger since he was about 9 years old and although I knew from news coverage that there was a "previous" family, I never saw Tiger's siblings at any event he played nor were they part of his inner circle.   Royce's name did come up during his college years as offering a home-away-from-home for the 2 years Tiger was a Stanford and she was amply rewarded for her sisterly kindness - a new home!!!

Earl Jr needs to take care of his own family and spend some time with Cheyenne before he tells his younger half-brother how to live!  Seems like his ex-wife, his father, and even Tiger are mentioned more often by her than her own Dad.  Guess when she turns pro and signs some big endorsements (which will happen just based on who she is), he'll expect her to help him out too?

As far as Earl making provisions for them I don't believe he had any money to leave them. I think Tiger was supporting him.
I'm not saying Tiger owes it to them. No one owes anyone anything but, this is his brother and even though we don't know everything I have not seen or heard anything from them publicly until Jr. spoke out in 2010 to alert Tiger or their brother's illness. That is why I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. We could make the argument that had it not been for the illness we would never have heard from them. As the mistresses turned adult film stars  and people like John Feinstein proved, it's easy to make money from being associated with Tiger Woods. If it was only about money they could have cashed in years ago or when Kevin got sick but, they haven't and right now there is nothing stopping them from cashing in on Tiger's name.

I am with you on this one!   And thrilled that somebody is actually standing up for Tiger in the media.  I find it difficult to believe that Tiger had a real relationship with these people-- to me they're coming out of the woodwork on occasion ... perhaps they think if they embarrass him he'll break down and give them money. We have a patient where I work who has been disabled for a very long time -- years and years -- and has lived frugally on what he was getting from his disability insurance --- nobody helped him - no relatives called him to see if he was okay.....  Well, about 3 months ago, his case was finally settled and the man got $1.5 Million settlement -- he told us that people are coming from all corners of the globe ... relatives he hasn't seen or heard from in years..... friends of friends, friends of relatives, etc., etc.  I wonder how "close" Earl Jr. would consider himself to Tiger if Tiger weren't a famous rich celebrity.

Donna, they had a relationship as adults. I believe Tiger was 21 when he won The Masters. Jr says he was there. They also attended Tiger's wedding.
I'm not sure which article you've read but, the article that is the topic of discussion is the one Missygirl posted. Jr. is not asking Tiger for money for himself. Royce & Jr are asking for Tiger to assist them with their sick brother. There's a difference, at least to me. As for his relationship with Cheyenne I admit I've only read a few interviews from her but, I have never heard her mention Tiger's name without being asked specifically about Tiger and I've never heard Tiger speak about Cheyenne unless he is asked about her. I remember one interview she said she removed everything from her bio that would associate with Tiger because she wanted to be her own person. I have a hunch that Mark Steinberg will represent Cheyenne when she turns pro so I can see why that relationship would be encouraged.

Beat, we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.   I think Earl Jr is a slimeball and his comment about don't come to us when you need a bone marrow transplant is just an example of how two-faced he is.

Just want to point out that Earl Jr was in attendance at the Masters with his FATHER, who was still alive then.   My Dad died last New Year's Day and from the moment he passed away, there are two relatives that I have completely cut out of my life.  When Dad was alive, because they were his family, we gritted our teeth and were polite but there's no need anymore to fake it.

I'm sorry Kevin is ill.   As you know from previous postings, my sister is completely bedridden with MS and on disability.   None of us are rich like Tiger but some of us have helped out on occasion.   Others don't feel the need to do so.   It's a personal decision based on their own life experiences and relationship with Jean.   I would never, ever publicly call them down for their choices.   FAMILY doesn't do that.

For Earl Jr to claim family ties and responsibility while trashing Tiger's reputation publicly is pot meet kettle, in my opinion.

In article posted... Cheyenne visited Tiger during her Thanksgiving break.

Also when Tiger won in December she was on twitter congratulating him.

A interview that she gave after she won last year she was saying that Tiger

had given her some pointers that lead to her win.

I believe that they have a closer relationship than with her other family.

Who knows anymore....Tiger just give them some money and if you want a

relationship do so, if not don't.

No one has thought to why Tiger stop talking to them!!!

I have said it before..... There might have been some

tension or an agrument that lead to this... You never

know.. now do you?

Hopefully Kevin will be ok...
