EYE, surely you know the difference between reporters and commentators. The two mentioned, Rick Reilly and Skip Bayless are not reporters. They're both well known for their occasionally outrageous comments. They like to stir things up whenever they can (especially Bayless).

 

"Why do we care what these reporters ("commentators") think (and say)"??

BECAUSE . . .

 

The Masters is shown in over TWO (200) HUNDRED COUNTRIES; most people don't do their own research.  They hear the soundbite, and think its true.

The "commentator" I mentioned is Chris Domino (CBS-790 The Zone).
