RIP one of the great music divas...prayers and condolences to her family

Maybe we are twins separated at birth EYE. I have always adored Barbra Streisand and then let's talk about Smokey Robinson and Marvin Gaye. Never were there two more talented musicians than those two.

I am betting sales of Whitney's albums goes through the roof tomorrow. Itunes is probably already hopping with the sale of her music. I only hope young people discover her great talent.

Funny you would mention the National Anthem. I have that YouTube video of her singing it saved in my bookmarks. I just love to listen to it. Gives me goose bumps.

So very sad for all of us---her fans and for her family. The world is a lesser place because of her death. But heaven is singing like it has never sung before!

It's still hard to believe.
There are so many reports coming out right now. As long as there was no foul play it really does not matter. Dear Whitney is gone forever.

The National Anthem in 2001 was certainly among her finest moments and she had many.

She could sing a love song like no one else.  She will be missed so much by so many!

My 2cents - I absolutely loved Whitney's work, both vocally and on the big screen - but unlike most everyone else, I detested her rendition of Dolly's "I Will Always Love You".   To me, the chorus sounds like my coonhound howling.   lol

However, when considered within her entire body of work, it's a minor "dislike".   Shame about her early departure - she should have been around to be honored as one of the early "divas" when she was in her 70's.    Drugs and the celebrity lifestyle are just too much for so many to handle.

So very true. She had many many moments of greatness in her short 48 years.
