Phil is fighting an uphill battle. He may not like what is being said but, he will have to prove the people named started the rumors. Those rumors go back a few years on the internet so unless he can say they are the original source I don't see his legal case getting very far. The rumors have also been investigated by SI and another publication so somebody felt there was enough smoke that the stories should be looked into.
I think Tiger wanted it to go away. Taking the approach Phil has taken adds more publicity to his problem. Whether the media rides this into the ground like they did with Tiger remains to be seen but, I don't think they will.

You bet Paul, you call it like you see it and there isn't anything better than calling someone out on doing the right thing!

How do you know these 2 started the rumor? Is it because Phil said they started it? Whose to say there are no witnesses text messages, photos etc that may eventually come to light in Phil's case?
When did I say I wish something terrible upon Phil? I asked a question. If this topic is too intense for you then exercise your right to stay out of the discussion because I'm going to write and say what I think.

Yea Beat......that info about Phil has been going on even longer than Tiger's. Makes you wonder why TGC didn't move on it! But then again the commentators on TGC (until Tiger's incident) looked like the republican nominees.......couldn't help myself! Wonder what Hootie thinks of this, will Phil be guilty until proven innocent?!

Phil is going to be the victim regardless of what alleged info is out there. The same people who vilified Tiger are accusing the media and internet posters of victimizing Phil.
I watched people victimize Matt Every a few weeks ago when he was asked about his weed scandal.
I can't stand hypocrisy.

Some of the Phil and/or Amy rumors started at least 10 years ago.
I'm not a big Phil fan, he is one of many I like to watch, but the rumors about Phil and Tiger should not be out there.
Like they say, their private life is just that, PRIVATE.

Believe it or not Pent, there were only 4 women that came forward but somehow the number came in at 30! EQUAL treatment instead of a witch hunt on one man. In GolfWorld magazine last year there was an article by several ex pros (some turned commentators) that were interviewed and came right out and said that in their day about 90% of the players had a woman at every stop on the tour. So the real question is why just go after Tiger. In that interview the pro stated the pros know who was doing it and Tiger would look like a sugar cube compared to their fellow pros shenanigans. It still doesn't make it right but neither does attacking Tiger for over 2 years now. A few weeks ago Every was going into Sunday in the lead, he was one of the young pros charged with criminal behavior and as I predicted it was a 3 day news cycle on TGC and most of the discussion was about his putter. When the TGC opened the door to go after Tiger I'd like to know why just him and not others - TGC chose to become a TMZ type televised show instead of sticking to golf analysis.

In this information age it is impossible to keep everything private. If you are a celebrity and live a lifestyle that you wouldn't want anyone knowing about it's best to do it in your home and involve as few people as possible or else someone is going to find out.
I don't believe the media should invade people's lives and splash it across every tabloid and magazine but, I'm not naive enough to believe they won't cover it. I feel the coverage should be fair and the story should be put into the proper perspective. The tabloid and legitimate media took Tiger's drama and created their own story lines. The National Enquirer is still trying to make the guy out to be the second coming of OJ Simpson. You should read some of the mess they still print. The legitimate media made him out to be some predator who victimized unsuspecting consenting women.
If Tiger had sued the case or cases would still be going on and still be in the media with more details coming out and it would never end. I think he did the right thing.
