What club would you hit if your ball was in the fairway, 150 yards from the hole with no wind & no difference in elevation?

5 iron.

Until recently, that would have been an 8 iron. Sadly, old age is creeping up on me, and now the 7 iron would be what I'd use.

I have never hit the ball very far. Always hit it very high. My 5 iron lands soft.  That's the club for me. Remember golf is a game of touch. :)
