So Firestone is almost here, an event I love. Hopefully we see some improvement this week with Tiger's wedges, his short game was pretty good at the British. He putted well just had a tough time with the speed.

Expect a lot more drivers this week, I think the key around this course, you've got to drive it well. I think if Tiger drives it well he wins.

This time next week our man may be world number 1 again.

Yes, August hasn't been a kind month to Tiger in the past two years, with his worst performance as a pro at Firestone in 2010, his divorce and then last year a horror show at the PGA.

This year it's time for revenge!

And don't forget August 2009.  Wasn't that the first time Tiger had the lead going into Sunday at a major and then lost?  In fact he was leading Yang by 2 shots after 54 holes and then ended up losing by 3.  Not pretty.  I won't use the word choke since some people are in denial.

I think Tiger needs to make sure he is hitting his scoring clubs close. He knows the greens on this course, so he is going to make putts. The rough isn't as penalizing as a US Open or Open Championship type of course, so its not such a big issue if he misses a few fairways, but when you hit driver, you are going to leave yourself a lot of scoring clubs into greens, Tiger has to get the ball close to the hole. You can't be giving yourself 30 footers for birdie on Par 5's. Tiger will make his share of putts, but your chances are much better if you have five feet for birdie rather than 30 feet.

Tiger knows the greens and he is going to make putts?  The first 2 rounds have shown this not to be the case.  Tiger has been poor on the greens and even missing 2 and 3 foot putts, forget about outside of 5 feet.  Maybe you are right, Tiger needs to stick his approach shots inside of 1 foot now to score on these last 2 rounds.  Good thing there is no cut at the Bridgestone.

Shorts putts are also about focus and maybe Tiger is really thinking about next week. That's fine with me, I am too.

Even if there was a cut, he would have still made it.

Short putts are a golfers nightmare!  I'd rather have a 10 foot putt than a 2 foot putt......
