Watching the Open Championship got me in practice because I know once again it's back to a 5 hour difference between real time events between the east coast of the US and London, England.    Many events at the 2012 summer olympics will be taped.   The secret is not to watch too much sports news to learn the outcomes in advance.     Limited tv & radio for me.

Just like football, if I DVR it then hear the final score, I delete it. Can't watch what I already know is the outcome.

I'm glad UPS wasn't in charge of getting the torch there on time. It would just be Redgrave reading out a tracking number.

I have to say i find it really weird that the olympics are not shown in real time in America. i have just finished watching the opening ceremony here in Australia, which started at 5.30 am here, but there would have been a huge outcry had we not been able to see it live. Sure, many people may only watch the reply later on today, but the choice to watch a repeat or watch it live is there for everyone. I guess, living down in the southern hemisphere, we just get used to watching important events at all odd hours of the day ( or night) Its part of the fun. Kongo
