      Coltcub64:

I watched some of it however, I got involved with TCM's star of the month (Leslie Howard) movies.   He was a great actor.    Too bad his plane returning to England was shot down by Germany during WWII.

Nevertheless, didn't Tiger and Sergio look so young?    I recall the 1999 PGA Championship like it was yesterday.    Back in 1999, no one would have taken a bet that going into the 2012 PGA Championship Sergio would be without a major win.    With Adam's "ugly" collapse last Sunday who knows we may be saying the same thing about Adam one day.      :(

P.S.    By the way, it was Adam Scott that described his loss as "ugly".

I really forgot how much Tiger fell apart towards the end of that final round. Honestly, he was lucky that Sergio didn't beat him. That tournament was there for the taking, Sergio just couldn't get enough decent birdie attempts towards the end of the round.

I'm not so sure. Sergio was only 1 shot better than Tiger on that final day. Sergio was lucky Tiger even slipped up on the back nine.

Tiger was young back then. He hadn't quite developed a killer instinct yet. I honestly believe that victory was just as important as the 97 Masters in terms of how Tiger's career would develop. That victory launched a run of 5 of the nex 6 majors to Tiger. That was the first time he had to close the deal in a major with somebody right there.

I want to see Tiger come from behind at a major, crush the field than take home the trophy.      It's always nice to watch Tiger raise and kiss the Wanamaker trophy.       lol
