Sherman Hemsley, the actor who played George Jefferson in the iconic '70s THE JEFFERSONS sitcom, passed away in his home.  He was 74.

He is truly an American icon and pioneer. I loved the Jeffersons. It is one of the best shows ever with one of the greatest theme songs.

 It's so sad to see all of the show's cast members leaving us.

RIP Sherman #Movin on up!

KLOUDY

HE WAS SUCH A LOW PROFILE PERSON THAT I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HE LIVED AND DIED IN EL PASO. HE GAVE US SO MUCH ENJOYMENT ON ALL OF HIS SHOWS. I WISH COMEDY WAS LIKE THAT TODAY.

Before 'House' "Medical Center" was about the only Med show I ever enjoyed.

                                His character (George Jefferson) was HILARIOUS !

                                      He hated his housekeeper (Florence), LOL;

                       almost as much as he hated their neighbors (The Willis's)...LOL

                                            They were all so much fun to watch !

          Thanks for the memories Sherman Helmsley.

                         Thanks for the memories.
