Did anyone hear him and Stephen A Smith blabbering on about how Tiger is done and golf has no more dominant players? First of all, Tiger has more wins than any player on tour this year, he has a 2nd place finish and has two 3rd place finishes. If thats not domination through a little more than half of a season, I don't know what could be. Tiger is on pace to win 6 tournaments, thats domination if you ask me.

Then he comes with these ridiculous arguments that Tiger can't putt within 5 feet anymore. Tiger is 10th on the PGA Tour in putts from 3-5 feet and 24th overall from within 5 feet. He is 12th in total putting and 21st in strokes gained putting.

Then Skip says Tiger is afraid to hit a driver. Tiger is 3rd on the PGA Tour in total driving, he is 40th in driving percentage for drives 300+ yards which basically measures Tiger's driver since Tiger hits his drives over 300 yards.

Then he says Tiger isn't a good ball striker, Tiger is 18th in greens in regulation. Everyone seems to point out that from 100-125 yards that Tiger isn't so good, but he is at the top categories from 150+ yards.

I already knew that Skip is not too bright, but this guy is such a joke. He has absolutely no clue what he is talking about for anything. I really wonder how he keeps a job. He never can back up his statements with facts, he just makes random statements to upset people.

I would not get upset about anything skip has to say. Stephen A. doesn't know that much about golf, so he could not challenge skip on anything. This is what happens when someone is on that show who knows what they're talking about:

It seems skip is only on the show for controversy.

Consider the source...or should i say sources. Between the two of them, Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith know as much about golf as my dog. Their m.o. is simply to stir up controversy, and they actually do it quite well. I wouldn't pay much attention to either of them.

That can also be said about the, 'Tiger Haters' aka trolls, that show up here daily, calling TTFs Tiger trolls.

You really know how to hurt a guy, Paul! You appear to have lost your formerly lovable sense of humor. Why so tense? You really need to lighten up. After all, we're not curing cancer here...or solving the world's monetary problems...we're talking golf which, the last time I checked, is a game. I'm inclined to think that, if all of the contributors to this forum actually played the game of golf, all of this pettiness would be greatly diminished.

Not trying to hurt anybody.

I was just commenting on your post.

BTW, millions of people watch, talk and love football, but they don't play.

That goes for Baseball, basketball, tennis and the list goes on.

I've not been able to play any of the above, include golf, since I came back from Vietnam a life time ago.

Wish I could.

Have a good day.

Cheerleading is now ranked as the number one most dangerous sport. Oh, and what number is football? Oh right. Number 2.

I'm sorry to hear of your inability to participate in sports, and I mean that sincerely. I too served during the Vietnam era, but was fortunate enough to be able to spend most of my time in a missile silo in South Dakota...not exactly paradise, but better than Vietnam.
With that said, allow me a few thoughts. Your response to my post #19457.3 had nothing to do with what I said in that post. My post was actually supportive of Tiger Woods, as I put down the idiots Bayless and Smith who had essentially stated that Tiger was just another player on the PGA Tour. Obviously, that's hardly the case, as he's now #2 in the OWGR and is having a great year so far, despite not having won a major.
Why is it so necessary to have to label someone as a "Tiger hater"? I'll never be mistaken for a "Tiger lover", but I'm not a hater. In my eyes, he's the second greatest player ever, next to Nicklaus, but I don't have any admiration for him personally. I understand that his indiscretions were several years ago, and everybody deserves a second chance, but it's hard to look past the hypocrisy that he and his staff perpetuated. If he does surpass Jack's total of 18 major wins, I'll be the first to congratulate him and proclaim him the best ever. And as one who's played golf for about 50 of my 66 years, and played it at a pretty high level, I can separate the personal side of Tiger from his accomplishments on the course.
Have a good day yourself.

In today's 24 hour sports media world,  debate and controversy seem to be the name of the game. Skip takes many positions that I disagree with and some that I agree with.  In February for Black History month, Skip stated the most important and memorable sports accomplishment in his lifetime was Tiger's win at the 1997 Masters. In his opinion, it had dominance and significant social impact.  While Skip takes a mostly negative view of Tiger these days, Colin Cowherd on another ESPN show is a big Tiger supporter.

Something to remember, because someone doesn't play golf at the highest levels, play to single digit handicap, or say nice things about Tiger all the time, does not make their opinions and positions worng. The real fact is disagreeing with me makes them worng.

My granddaughter made sure that we all knew at dinner tonight that Cheerleading is now regarded as the #1 most dangerous sport!!!!!   We were all "THRILLED" to hear that since she is a competitive All Star cheerleader and is double-teaming again this year!!!!!

Skip's opinion about Tiger has nothing to do with golf. It's personal. I explained what happened a few months ago. Skip said something about Tiger and Mark sent him a nasty email threatening him. Skip did not take to kindly of the email so he's held a grudge all these years.
