GC had a poll about who would have won the most majors at END of their career.
It was a 50/50 split at end of poll.
Fienstein was a "guest host" ---his take was Fed would not win anymore than the 17 he has and Tiger would also end up with 17.
I was shocked that he thought TW would win ANY more.
He's right about one thing. Federer is done winning grand slams. He's way past his prime. Had Rafael Nadal not gotten upset, he would have beaten Federer in the final.
Federer has been great, but he's not even the best player of his era.
Okay, coltcub64, who in your opinion is the best tennis player of Federer's era? Pete Sampras? Personally, the greatest tennis player for me on the men's side was Bjorn Borg.
Now, if the yardstick is the number of majors won, then the greatest tennis player of all time is Margaret Court with 24 and secondly would be Graf with 22. :)
