    • Tiger didn't prepare himself well for Greenbrier

His "game" face wasn't there, obviously less focused in Greenbrier than Memorial and AT & T National.    Tiger just stepped off  from winning 2 super fast courses which had quite oppsite course/green characteristics from Greenbrier.     He spent Monday doing a NIKE ad shot, arrived at Greenbrier on Tuesday and did a news conference and his practice round on Tues was cancelled due to a storm....       With just a pro-am round in foggy weather, he stepped into competing Greenbrier for his first time quite unprepared for Thurs and Fri...      He hadn't given his BEST endeavour in preparing for this tournament... If he had treated this tournament participation in as much vigour as he did for the majors and Memorial Tournament, he should not be in this worse shape as missing the cut...   He might need to reflect on this ...   in realising if he has to go for a tournament with a course in his first time, he should go in earlier by a few days....as well as keeping himself focused rather than squeezing in a NIKE ad in between two tournaments....

so he should have left the AT&T early?????

Get real!!  Tiger is a professional golfer.  Yes, it was his first time at the Greenbrier.  Yes....he had a business commitment on Monday....got rained out on Tuesday.....and the proAm on Wednesday.  Yes...he did not have the opportunity to study the course as well as he would have liked.  But that is not an excuse you will hear uttered from Tiger's lips.  He hit the ball solidly off the tee.....best two days in a long time.....he just couldn't get correct distances with his irons and had trouble judging the speed of the greens.  He knows his iron play and putting have been hurting consistent results.

What is the big deal here!!    Tiger Woods missed the Cut for his 9th time as a professional golfer on the PGA Tour.  It was his first time playing the Old White TPC.   I can tell you , Tiger had not left the resort before its owners were asking him to kindly think about coming back in 2013.     :)

The Cut was -1.

Tiger had a score of Even after 36 holes.

He didn"t "squeeze" a Nike ad in just out of the blue....it was something that had been set up and committed to...you can't just cancel these things....it would cost millions of dollars!  And how would he go in earlier???? He didn't finish at AT&T until Sunday night!!!!!  Sorry....but don't understand your thinking at all....then why did Phil miss the cut????  He didn't have a Nike Shoot on Monday.....and how about Jim Furyk ....neither did he!

Tiger quit today. Took the money and headed home. Missing the cut in the second worst field he's ever played in?? Missing the cut  after a great win?

Well I might agree with a comment that he didn't have an opportunity to play the course as much as he has others and that may have effected his play in round 1.   I did hear him in a interview after that round make a comment that his problems stemmed from not knowing the course,  but that he now knew the course going into round 2.

As I posted previously Tigers issues at the Greenbrier continued to be the issues that he fights each week,   Exploting to the maximum his advantage on the par 5's and getting his approach shots into a position where the birdie opportunities are reasonable,  birdie opportunies from 20 feet aren't high probabilities.  Like any pro when he does those things properly they have a good chance of winning,  you don't you go home early.   It does seem to be an off and on thing.   Clearly you could see that he was frustrated with his short iron play,  to me the thing that really stood out was his wedge play,  by Tiger standards it was pretty dismal and cost him dearly on a number of holes yesterday.  Some weeks are better than others,  but there were no excuses for this week.   He doesn't make them and I don't think they should be part of the conversation.

BTW the suggestions that I saw in other posts that he was simply mailing this one in are pure BS.   Tiger doesn't play that way and he was the picture of intensity on the back 9 trying to make that cut.

Very well stated from someone who obviously has studied Tiger Woods. The comments from the other TTF's were spot on also. The remaining comments on this post were obviously "troll" comments trying to get someone to take the bait. The only thing these trolls have in common is their vitriol.

Tiger took his money and ran. 2nd weakest field ever and he misses the cut? Painfully obvious he had no interest being there.

To say that "Tiger took the money and ran" is a baseless opinion that really has no history to support it. Yes, Tiger's putting was off,  his wedge game cost him strokes, and he seemed frustrated with his performance. That's it.
