It was a great interview!!  Especially enjoyed the story of 5 yr old Tiger playing with Sam Snead :-))  Also loved his quip:  "sometimes you guys can be pretty annoying" :-))))

Really enjoyed the interview..Tiger is begining to reveal a side of him that he was reluctant to show before. The story about meeting and playing golf with Snead when he was 5 was so interesting . Tiger obviously enjoyed sharing it and the fact that he was competitive even than.  This is the type of  personal story that his fans, the media hang on to; it makes it easier to identify with him..and he can still maintain his privacy. Loved the little quip to the media..and that was a pretty gentle comment considering the aggravating comments they have made about him. So glad that he feels comfortable "talking back" to them..same as last week when he mentioned that many of them felt that he would never win again. Wondering if Shawn is encouraging him to banter playfully with the media and show a more "humane" side!!!!

All very positive changes for Tiger.

I agree with you totally, it was a really good interview. I'm waiting for the next Alex M question, and Tiger's response: Well Alex now that you are probably the worst writer on earth, what makes you think that I should answer that?  If I have not forgotten that lowlife Alex question from a couple of years ago, then I'm sure that Tiger has not forgotten it.

I hope that Tiger continues to needle them humorously as it is far more effective than becoming angry. Humour disarms everyone  and still achieves the same objective. The Feherty show demonstrates that so well. Don't know how Tiger kept his cool during some rather awkward and unfair questioning by the media. I don't know about the comment you referred to but I do remember Micelli  insisting on asking  Tiger about Haney's book...and Tiger in anger said: you are a beauty..I think!!

Always such a pleasure commmunicating with others on this forum.

LOL, I loved Tiger telling the media they're annoying.  Also noticed a few of them on, "Morning Drive", saying

they weren't the ones saying Tiger would never win again.  Quickly defending themselves..lol!

Tigres

:I think before the PGA in 2010 or somewhere around that time, Alex asked Tiger a question in teh pre-tournament presser: "Now that you are probably the worst golf in the world, why do you think that you can win"? I thought the question was really low, but Tiger's response was something like: I maybe bad but I can still beat you.

Hi,

I can't believe that a member of the press would ask such a cruel and heartless question. Helps to understnad why Tiger was so angry with him but I think Tiger's answer was most appropriate. I think that any member of the press who chooses to insult someone should be banned or fired from that position.

Thanks for sharing.

If we were only so lucky......most of the media who follows golf would have been fired during the last 2-1/2 years.....and a lot of the commentators too who continually talked about "the scandal" while they were working at a tournament....every time Tiger made a shot they would preface their comments with "since the scandal" or "prior to the scandal".  They've only all seemingly calmed down because he's won 3 tournaments this year....

And obviously GC execs took action as we don't see Miceli on course during tournaments like before!  Think they popped his balloon a bit, just like Chamblee covering the LPGA now.  I am sure folks at GC do read posts here and of course comments made on their own site.  Their best method of tempering......move 'em behind the scenes!

It's one thing to express opinions, to point out perceived deficits in a player's game, but when it comes to expressions of hatred, jealousy, or trying to incite controversy it is not in the best interest of promoting golf.
