Thumbs Up:
whenever a player, young gun or veteran, wins on the pga tour.
Thumbs Down:
when certain types in the media immediately crown/anonint that
player as the next big thing in comparison to Tiger Woods.
Thumbs Down:
when fans, in retaliation to the ignorance and arrogance of certain
media types, put down a particular player simply because the media
has (un-fairly ) built him up against Tiger Woods. it is not the fault of
the player. it should be the media person who is scrutinized, and not
the player.
Thumbs Down:
when a player is un-fairly built up by the media in comparison
to Tiger Woods, whom the media person puts down.
that player, then also begins to build himself up and puts Tiger
down.
Thumbs Up:
when fans congratulate a player after winning when Tiger
Woods was in the same field.
Thumbs Down:
when fans put a player down simply for having a positive attitude
towards their abilities as competitors. competitors compete!
they try to win. they try to beat their opponents.
Thumbs Down:
when a player other than Tiger is being interviewed about his own
game, and the interviewer consistently asks that player about
Tiger's game. how must it make that player feel?
one ..... two at the most questions about Tiger will do.

Tiger has proven his worth as "the needle" in golf for 12 years.
rather than to immediately crown and annoint winners on tour,
at least give them the opportunity to prove their worth by fleshing
out their continued consistency as compared to Tiger Woods.
time will tell.
if not. then the media should simply give them their due.
congratulate them. they worked hard and prepared and earned a win
for themselves. they need the time to prove what they can do. otherwise,
it simply points the spotlight on them and adds ( i am sure ) unwanted
pressure on that particular player.
