Today is Lexy's last day of school and at noon dismissal, all the kids head to our swim club and jump in the pool in uniform, officially marking the end of the school year and the beginning of summer.  Pizza follows and the fun has begun!

I know she's thrilled but I'll bet not half as excited as me!!   I just love the long, hot days of summer, lounging around the pool, cooking on the grill, daytrips to amusement parks and zoos, and our annual vacation with the 6 little ones.   It's even better now that I'm retired and EVERY day is a weekend day.   LOL

Hope you all here in the Northern Hemisphere have a great summertime and to Jo and those down under, hope your winter isn't too harsh! 

Making me very jealous Donnakay:))..Send some of that sunshine to Ireland please...Enjoy your Summer,TW involved in plenty over the duration..

Peader, after several days of overcast skies and some thunderstorms, today is bright sunshine and expecting a high of 85 degrees - perfect for last day of school festivities.   Off now to buy some sunscreen for the little one and head to school to pick her up.   Hope the weather turns nice for you!!!

Sounds you have an absolutely wonderful time with your family DK. It just such a nice picture you paint. i hope you all have a safe and happy holiday season. We are in winter now of course, but I don't mind it too much at all. Where I live, in southern Queensland, our winters are particularly nice. Its the dry season (usually) and we have lots of bright sunshine, even if it isn't overly warm, its great to be outside. Kongo

VG, as much as I love summer, by September, I am ready for cold weather and some snow.   I love autumn when all the colors are so gorgeous and the air is brisk, like winter, and love those warm spring sunny days.   I'd miss the season changes.

Besides, I HATE bugs and Florida has some of the biggest, ugliest ones I've ever seen.  LOL

So, I'll stay in Maryland.....

 

I also love Summer time .love all the flowers and the green.... today was my granddaughter's Kylie last day of school also!

My grandchildren were bemoaning the fact that they have school until 6/21....they remember their school days in Florida where they would be getting out for the summer now....Had to remind them they would also be going back to school a lot earlier than they do in New York (in August rather than the day after Labor Day)....so it all evens out in the end....besides which between final exams and Regents they don't have a full day of school between now and 6/21 anyway!  We have had rain every single day (lots of thunderstorms too) for the past 10 days.  Some sun peeking thru now and then but lots of rain.  Getting tiresome...

Thought I would miss the seasonal changes too.....but so far so good!  Of course, this is my summer here, so we'll see :-))  Oh, and those bugs?  Only ones I've ever seen are "belly up" LOL  It's the almost 365 days of sunshine that makes me love it here.  Winter in VT is mighty drear.......
