are not feeling well.  it's tough to play golf when you are feeling sick.

and you didn't make any excuses.  but they mentioned on t.v. that

you were sick.   and i heard you coughing on t.v. yesterday when you

were on the tee box.

i know it's late in the day, but if you have not done it already, call your

doctor and get some advice or hopefully a prescription ( if you can ).

if you can get ahold of some really good chicken soup, (Panera Bread )

it really does help you feel better.

and if you cannot get a prescription from your doctor
(because some doc's wanna see you first), then ask your doctor what would

be good to take instead; if anything.

and call your mom.   a mother's touch always helps you feel better.

o.k.

1.   call your doc so he/she can determine if it is the  flu  or if it is allergies.

2.  see if you can get a prescription/or get seen by a doctor where you are.
if you do not get a prescription from the doctor,  ask if they can suggest
     something else instead.

3.  go to bed.   set your alarm to take whatever meds the doctor okays for you.
but get plenty of sleep.  lots of sleep.

4.  chicken soup (as much as your doc says you can eat)
     lots of water.
and lots of orange juice if it is okay with your doctor.  organic if possible.

5.  AGAIN.  CHECK IT ALL OUT WITH YOUR DOCTOR.

SO SORRY YOU DON'T FEEL WELL, BUDDY.

HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON, TIGER.

upt~

Great advice. But Tiger is 10 miles from one of the premire medical facillities in the world The Ohio State University...

I'm sure they can give you some meds to help you out !!!!!

If you've ever had them,  the flu and allergies are easy to differentiate.  I'm sure he knows which one he has.  We've seen him w/his allergies before.  I think this is the flu (or something similar)  But even so, there is relief to be found somewhere, no?  And why does Tiger suffer w/allergies when there is so much out there to combat them?  I guess all that stuff puts you to sleep, maybe....

Tiger can't take everything that you or I may be able to take. A lot of allergy and flu medications contain banned substances.

It is VERY common for professional athletes to have exemptions, especially for conditions such as allergy and asthma. For example, the world champion in cross country skiing (an endurance sport) has an exemption for an asthma medication that is known to improve endurance. It is considered to level the playing field when you have a diagnosed condition.

from the WADA site:

"The World Anti-Doping Code (Code) recognizes the right of athletes to the best possible treatment for any medical condition. If you are in need of medication, please contact your International Federation or NADO to find out more about the criteria and procedures to apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE)."

I thought there might have been a regulation regarding the use of medications by athletes--pro golfers, in particular. Thanks for confirming that.

Obviously it's not common in the PGA. Doug Barron had a far more serious condition than allergies and he was denied and exemption by the PGA and later banned from the PGA. He went through years of litigation in order to obtain an exemption. The PGA is not a union sport. It is up to their committee to decide who gets an exemption and who doesn't and since the PGA operates under nondisclosure they can pick and choose who they want to grant TUEs and who they deny TUEs.
The PGA operates under nondisclosure so they don't reveal who failed drug tests even if it's for recreational drugs. The only reason we know about Barron is because he took them to court.
