I've been out of town on vacation the last week, so I just started catching up on the media coverage. It's amazing the advice from some, "Treat the press as your friend and they will be your friend". What a load of cr....that is. I remember years ago in a media relations training for my job at the time, a former Daily Host for a show in LA said: "If you think that you have friends in the media just remember this advice, the reporters and journalists don't have friends outside the media, just contacts".
The Q&A was great. The new internet forums and communications effectively bypasses the press, and allows Tiger to go directly to his fans. I want it more often.
To quiet the negative this week, just play well. In the long run, that's what will really count in the golf world.
