It really was an interesting competition of new and seasoned stars. Amazing to still see Pang/Tong out there winning titles. Julia Lipnitskaia's senior GP debut was good. She needs to work on the speed and flow of her edges. She also needs to work on her jumps to accomodate for any potential body growth. That Tara Lipinski double axel will be a lot harder with 3 or 4 extra inches on her, so she should make her jumps bigger, and not depend solely on tightness of rotation in the air.
Mao Asada has showed progress, but with 15 months until Sochi, you have to wonder if it's too little too late. She's still struggling with the 3lutz, and still has no 3/3 combos, and where's her 3axel? With the likes of Ashley Wagner, the comeback of Yu Na, and several new rising stars, she may just have a chance for a medal at the Olympics, but with no 3/3 or 3axel, gold just does not seem possible. But still, good for her for making it back on the top of the podium at a GP event.
