There is a club here of people that you could join who feel the same way about Matisse so you're not alone lol. I felt the same way until I tried it and found the process wasn't so bad .. I even enjoyed myself .. but I'm not about to do a repeat performance soon lol.

As for your painting, I think you've done well .. you outlined the structures and highlighted the important elements. Although the red doesn't show up dramatically against the orange, if you look at the original, neither do his outlines so I'd say you're in the right zone with that . Good job IMHO :)

VERY WELL DONE!!!  I hate this style of Matisse too, but this project has been really great, I think yours is a super matisse style, the colours and his peculiar perspective, I'm so glad you decided to have a go. I look forward to seeing it in the gallery alongside the others.

i beg to differ on your opinion.   this looks very Matissie to me!    if you look again at his red studio....  perspective wasn't his concern.... so you've done a smashing job on it.

      too bad about that dead dog though.....  (just being silly here)
