Hi all

First of all I’m not sure where to post this, since I don’t think I done, I’m going for here .  The other thing I don’t like is to start off with a disclaimer, but….I had an awful time trying to photograph this.  I just finished working on this and being that the paint is wet, it’s giving me a lot of reflection in the wrong place, like Santa’s left eye.  It looks quite odd in every photo I took, but not in person.  Other than that I’m keeping my other criticisms’ to myself.   Anyway, I would love any thoughts on this.  I’m going for an “oldy world” feeling.  This is oil on 12”x16” canvas.

OK I worked on this a bit more and am mostly happy with it.  Not sure about Santa’s left eye.  Will let it rest a while…….

It does look like a Santa illustration from the 1800's, but a very sophisticated one.  The background needs lightening &/or more information & detail.

This is a really nice painting. The hair and fake fur and beard and dog fur are beautifully rendered. Since there is such a strong highlight on Santas nose, maybe you could add a stronger highlight to the top of the glasses on Santa? I think that  would add some sparkle.

I think this is delightful , I think I would just put a mere detail of santa's left eye, , but maybe in the original there does show some detail there. Is this your Christmas card for this year.?.

Santa’s left eye is there ( a bad photo), but I think I might punch it up just a bit along with the dog’s left eye.  Yes this will be my Christmas card this year.
